Not a surprise. I think that the plan was always to take Wally off the table, even before the reboot. I don't think the assorted Flash projects, like the Speedforce book, ever got past the casual-discussion stage.
Let's be fair. At least now DC is honest about not wanting to use Wally, so nobody is being strung along. |

I read one or two issues of the rebooted Flash. To be honest, it wasn't for me, but people love it, and that's fine. In general, I find that most of the books I really enjoy are being done outside of DC. These days, I think DC is just spinning its wheels creatively, instead of moving forward, and the Flash represents everything I dislike about the reboot. And given that this reboot is an all-or-nothing deal, I'm happy to move on.

People may not like it, but Wally doesn't fit DC's stated goals with the relaunch. I'm sure he'll be back eventually, just not sure when or how.

Finding somewhere where he fits in this universe that his fans would be entertained by perhaps? (Which I think would be impossible even if they went back to one of Wally's prior versions/eras because everyone has a different favourite era)

I also liked Wally as Kid Flash in Amy Wolframs Teen Titans Year One from a few years back. Didn't care for him as much in Marvs Titans. |
