Default Another Francis Manapul interview...

http://retcon-punch.com/2012/04/25/i...ton-comic-con/

Nice interview. And the same old Wally West news...DC just wont let him use Wally.

That's that. Francis seems like a real nice guy. Would love to meet him at a con. Maybe NYCC.

Not a surprise. I think that the plan was always to take Wally off the table, even before the reboot. I don't think the assorted Flash projects, like the Speedforce book, ever got past the casual-discussion stage.

Let's be fair. At least now DC is honest about not wanting to use Wally, so nobody is being strung along.

Agreed. I'm not even that disappointed anymore. It is what it is. He had a great run.

Wally will definitely return, but I don't think it'll happen until the current DC management leaves and a new brain trust takes over, to be quite honest. It would be cool to be proven wrong, though.

I read one or two issues of the rebooted Flash. To be honest, it wasn't for me, but people love it, and that's fine. In general, I find that most of the books I really enjoy are being done outside of DC. These days, I think DC is just spinning its wheels creatively, instead of moving forward, and the Flash represents everything I dislike about the reboot. And given that this reboot is an all-or-nothing deal, I'm happy to move on.

The Wally we remember may never come back. If we are lucky we might get the Wally from Young Justice.

Well, this "reboot" is supposed to feature new versions of the characters who aren't from Batman or GL. There will be a Wally West, yes, but as you said, a different one.

I'd be happy if he were on another Earth with Donna, Jade, Garth, Obsidian, and other legacies. Make them the new Infinity Inc.

People may not like it, but Wally doesn't fit DC's stated goals with the relaunch. I'm sure he'll be back eventually, just not sure when or how.

I'm still confused as to what these goals are.

Finding somewhere where he fits in this universe that his fans would be entertained by perhaps? (Which I think would be impossible even if they went back to one of Wally's prior versions/eras because everyone has a different favourite era)

Did you see episode one of Young Justice: Invasion? Is Wally still Kid Flash given Grayson's identity?

I haven't picked up this book since the New 52 (been away from comics for a few months) is it any good?

It is fantastic. The best the book has been in years. Since Geoffs first run ended. Highly recommend it. The art and storytelling, in a way, reminds me of Darwyn Cookes work. Especially his Spirit. Which is a very high compliment.

Sorry I missed your post the first time. I didn't see it yet. I have it dvr'd. I love this show. Probably catch up at some point this weekend. This show actually kinda makes me want to see more Wally West Kid Flash in the comics. I mean...screw it...we aren't gonna see him as Flash anyway.

I also liked Wally as Kid Flash in Amy Wolframs Teen Titans Year One from a few years back. Didn't care for him as much in Marvs Titans.
