Default DC's Weird Worlds at comiccon?

If anyone went, what is the word on Weird Worlds? It says very little on Newsarama site. Thanks in advance.

Hi Cloud:

DC has something on their site here: http://dcu.blog.dccomics.com/2010/07...rlds-and-more/

If Garbage Man? Looks like Aaron Lopresti art. Could this have something to do with the WEIRD WORLDS title weve heard mentioned recently? Youre getting warmer.

Lets check in with Senior Story Editor Ian Sattler to shed some more light on these two items and see what else attendees can expect to hear about on the panel. Take it away, Ian:

DC Universe: Event Horizon is your ticket to all things DCU. Weve got a great list of creators joining us and more than a few surprises up our sleeves that you wont find at any other panel. Seriously I m worried were gonna break the projector with all the slides we have ready for this one. And who knows, the right question at this panel could land you a spot in a future DC Nation. See you there!

garbage man? wow....
why does he look like a swamp thing/toxic avenger ripoff and.........really......what's with the name...... there's some things the "so and so -man" moniker works for....but "garbage man" just seems like a spoof/humor title.

I thought it sounded fun. Who knows, maybe he was a garbage man before he became Garbage Man!!

I can't believe this is one of DC's major announcements. Ian Sattler made it sound as if there were going to be a lot of surprises and as usual hardly anything was announced at the biggest convention of the year!

no... i'm sorry but it's not different. different would imply something that hasn't been done yet. i'd rather see a revitalizing of swamp thing than a regurgitation that sounds like an embarrassing throwback to the 90's error of character overload.

I got the impression that this was a creator-owned book with the emphasis being placed on Lopresti's role with the book.

Garbage Man looks fun.

Actually, according to C2E2, this is a team-up book, similar to The Brave and the Bold, but instead of two established characters every issue, it will have one established character and one new character in every issue.

They pretty much announced everything on the Source a week before the con.

So by the time we saw it here, the internet was "What else ya got?"

Default Aaron Lopresti talks Weird Worlds with CBR

More info on Weird Worlds at CBR as they interview Aaron Lopresti.

And like that, I am sold on the book.

Humm, sounds interesting.

I thought that the Vertigo wall was down, guess not.

I wonder who/what the established character is; hope they don't re image something. Too often when this happens of later, the results have not been well received; better to do a new concept that clearly is influenced by the original. Any one here have any guesses?

Creeper, Frankenstein (any DC version) or ??? who else would fit the theme.

Kinda nice that they are trying an anthology format - hope it is solid enough to build an audience that will give DC the courage to try more of this format.

So did anyone ever actually read this series? I read the first issue on Comixology this week and thought it was pretty cool. It's definitely weird but in a good way - a bit outside the norm.

I guess two of these serials are continuing in My Greatest Adventure, plus they're bringing Matt Kindt on board? Very nice.

I read it -- and really liked it. The Garbage Man and Tanga features were really enjoyable, and I'm looking forward to seeing them continue in MGA.
