Default Adventure Comics

Hey, everyone -

By now you've probably heard more about Adventure Comics. You've seen some of the amazing work that Francis Manapul is doing. And I hope you've gotten a flavor of the tone of this book. In many ways, this is in the same vein as my run on Action Comics with Gary Frank, and Superman: Secret Origins, but with another one of my absolute favorite character in all of comics - Superboy.

I know there are a lot of big comics out there. I know there are events looking for your money - like Blackest Night! LOL. In a strange way, Adventure Comics is counter-programming to myself. But I do hope you give this series a try. It's a very special book to Francis and I. For me, it's 100% heart.

Looking forward to it Geoff! Its a shame it couldn't come out now. I'm getting goosebumps! I am greatfull that there is someone out there who has such love for the character and is writing his book. Thank you so much!

I may have mentioned this on here before, but the two things that got me back to collecting comics after years away was the return of the Green Lantern Corps (one of the main reasons I quit was the original destruction of the Corps) and curiosity about this character who was running around in the Superman shirt. Very happy to see Conner back, and to know the series will have some heart in it and very happy he's still in his tshirt and jeans. It's nice to have at least one superhero that I can actually dress like and go out in public.

P.S. Just in case you were wondering, it's impossible to have too much Krypto in a comic book.

Your titles really add something to each other, which wouldn't be possible if you didn't write so many. The more Johns books, the better, I say.

I'm looking forward to this a lot more than Blackest Night. Everything we see about this makes it look better and better. (Especially the duo on the cover for #3.)

Not that the attack of the Black Lanterns doesn't look like fun, of course (but no Bruce Wayne meeting his folks? C'mon!), but Adventure looks a lot more like a book I would want to buy than most comics today, and it stars my favorite DC character, as well. I finally started a pull list just to make sure I don't miss this.

I loved the story and dialog, I am a little iffy on the art but I think it will get better. I loved Bart's part so I do hope he'll be in the book more or he will be one in one of the new Flash books written by Geoff himself

The art alone looks fantastic, and the coloring adds so much to it. Looking forward to this.

Have no fear Mr johns, I will be buying this book.

When you killed the kid off in IC I did nearly give up on comics...but it is funny that your titles actually kept me in there...seeing as you were the guy who took my favorite character away...(not by your own choice of course.)

Anyway I love your writing and I know the character is in very good hands...I just wish that they had let you take over the reigns of Superboys solo book all those years ago, and let you lay with the character then....it would have been really interesting to see where that story ended up.

I posted this on another topic about Adventure, but it fits perfectly here:

Everytime I see a new preview or cover for Advenure I want to read it more and more. I'm sure that's the idea, but man does it work on me!
The art looks amazing, it seems to fit so perfectly, and I'm sure Geoff has fantastic stories waiting to be told.

Can Not Wait!

and that's why i can't wait to read it! i loved how action comics was made of fun and solid stories that anyone could read, not just initiated readers. i wish every DC comic was like that!

and, geoff: don't forget the legion
