I wish it had ended properly with the parents finding their house ransacked and that annoying culkin boy shoved into the oven.

EDIT: Happy holidays to almost everyone on the board from me to you.

Maybe the director has an alternate ending like you describe in his private collection.

I know i'd have wanted to shoot the scene that way whether the studios wanted me to or not!

I dunno. Hours of buffoons getting hurt by Culkin just isn't my idea of "great." I've actually always quite hated Home Alone. You should try watching some other holiday favorites.

For the record my list of Christmas favofites (in no particular order) are...

Miracle on 34th Street (1947)
A Christmas Story (1983 - my favorite line has to be "I like the Wizard of Oz. I like the Tin Man." The random throw away line leaves me in hysterics every year)
Ocean's 11 (1960 - more of a New Years movie, I'm talking about the Sinatra one. Not that thing Clooney put out)
Love Actually (2003 - that movie makes me go gooey every time I see it. Sshhhh. Don't tell anybody)
Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (1964)
Die Hard (1988 - it is too a Christmas movie! Rewatch it and see for yourself)
Scrooge (1951 - the one with Alistaire Sim. All others are just weak imitations)
Black Christmas (1974 - Okay. Maybe I'm not ready to leave the horror films behind for the holidays)
Christmas Vacation (1989)
Holiday Inn (1942)

and finally my absolute favorite

It's a Wonderful Life (1946).

In fact, people who haven't seen It's a Wonderful Life piss me off. You shouldn't be able to celebrate Christmas unless you've seen that one.

Where's the Bishop's Wife? Or the Bells of St. Mary's?
