Hey, guys --
A heads up! BLACK VENEGANCE finishes up in issue 75. Then an OMAC pays the JSA a visit in 76, which reveals the fate of one of our cast. And Alan Scott and Hal Jordan team up in 77 to help a character called Airwave! After that, I'll be stepping down from JSA temporarily for a three-issue story ("Lost and Found" - 78 thru 80) while I finish up Infinite Crisis and JSA Classified 1 thru 4. The book will continue with subplots we started and character evolutions as it dives into Crisis during "Lost and Found." I've spoken with the guest-writer (see below) and he's weaved it into the monthly. It's NOT a fill-in, it'll actually impact the book. I'll be back to kick it into high gear with issue 81. This is the last break I'm taking for Crisis, then it's JSA, TEEN TITANS and GREEN LANTERN as we move into 2006. There are things brewing for 2006 that will dramatically effect the JSA team in terms of membership, character and storylines. You will see new villains, classic villains, realtionship shake-ups and some reimagined JSAers. So, welcome our inker - Keith Champagne - as he takes over the writing chores for "Lost and Found." I think you'll like what he's got in store. And if you're reading ARMOR X, you know he's the real deal. Thanks for sticking with JSA, Geoff |

I'm really looking forward to the stuff coming up, both from Geoff & Keith. Armor X is X-cellent and from what Keith told me about what he's got cooking (especially the villain), "Lost & Found" is gonna be a hot one.

"reveals the fate of one of our cast?" Gulp.... Oh I really hope this doesn't mean the worst. Maybe it means that Lyta will decide to dye her hair brown, or that Sand will finally figure out how to avoid getting sand in his shorts at the beach....

I have all confidence in this arc. I'm glad that you guys went with someone who is on the staff currently and knows what's going on, rather than bringing in somebody randomly. So Keith will be inking as well as writing?

Geoff, the JSA won't be the same with out you. Just when I get into a series something's gotta happen. Man now I gotta drop JSA from my comic list. (That was sarcasm by the way.) I'll be here when you return.

I'll miss Geoff, but would rather have a short break than have Geoff leave the book completely. This is a great chance for Keith as well. I know he'll do the JSA proud!

Good for Keith! That's great. As another pointed out, if Geoff needs a break, I'd rather have an 'insider' handle the chores than some Joe Jackass come in who has little, to no, knowledge of JSA-lore. (You mean Hourman isn't a porn star?!?)

OMAC and a fate of one of the members-yikes. I know OMAC is showing up more and more, and it seems like some heroes are changing who they are with the threats around them (i.e: Superman).
AIR WAVE is great news. Can't wait to read this and see him out of limbo. Lost and Found sounds like a interesting title right after all of this especially right around Infinite Crisis.

Thanks for the "heads up" Geoff! I have to say this will be the first time that I've read a book where the writer takes a break and one of the other creators on the book fills in. I'm definitely looking forward to this!
Now about that comment on the membership shake-up.....you're not going to get rid of Power Girl, are you? ![]() PS: Thanks for diggin Air Wave out of the moth-balls!

Oh, scaryness! Geoff taking a breather is far better than what has happened to the fans of the Flash and I have to say that if you are going to take a break at least things are in the hands of the only person who has been around almost as long. I am actually more excited than worried about this--and I am so glad that the storylines will be continued--placing JSA on hold for awhile would suck.
That said, looks like we are going to find out what Degaton's ominous words were when we last saw him--reimagined heroes---hmmmm, anybody remember the dream that Sand had at the beginning of Leonard Kirk's run, when we saw the original Sandman and Atom fighting alongside the team? Wonder if any of this might be coming true. Like Bgztl, I too worry about PowerGirl, but can't see how she isn't going to come out of Crisis somehow affected--positive or negative. So #81, is that going to be during the Crisis? That means that Geoff will be back with us just in time to get the JSA into gear with the biggest event that any of us has seen in awhile. Wonder what the next year is going to look like...so much is up in th air at the moment, so much is changing. I'm just glad that we have a secret agent (Geoff) looking out for our guys while this is all going on. Grem-

It's like waiting to see Evel Keneval jump. Will he make it or will he crash and burn? The suspense is mounting...
I can't wait to see who Geoff is reimagining! |
