Most touring is dictated, at least initially, by the publisher, and I've got no clue what they're intending for me at this point. The timing on this one is such that I may be able to swing a couple of self-organized events. but I'm not sure. If I do try to get anything up and running, I will definitely be hitting the East Coast.

Thanks Greg. I hope you do a local tour of smaller venues than a Con. I think you mentioned awhile back that your former Webmaster, Maggie, worked at Partners in Crime in Greenwich VIllage.

There is also another local book store that seems to constantly have signings and readings: Book Revue in Huntington, Long Island. Unfortunately, I haven't been in the store, but I have seen posters in their windows for signings that run the gamut from sports stars (Frank Gifford) to mainstream authors (Nelson DeMille) to celebrities (Barbara Walters). Actually, Dennis Lehane was there in the recent past. Stephen J. Cannell and Jodi Picoult will be there in the next few months. Perhaps, your people could call their people.

That presupposes that I have people.

You're a big comics muckety muck. Get Keith Giffen to give them a call. That should produce some humorous results.

Thanks Greg,

I thought QoS had entertaining moments but was a bit of step back for me . Still no gadgets or catch phrases but more over the top action scenes than Casino Royale. I liked it better than classic cheesy Bond but I still prefer Bourne and even 24 (and of course Queen and Country)

Haven't had a chance to see QoS yet. Keep trying, but life keeps blocking my attempts. I quite liked Casino Royale, though I liked it far more on my second viewing than I did on my first. I think they've opened up a pandora's box, though - Craig's Bond is, to my eyes, clearly a "replacement" officer for a previous 007, presumably another man who was called "James Bond." Which, to me, seems perfectly reasonable, but I'd like them to embrace that, rather than ignore it. But I also believe in world peace, so clearly I'm, as John Lennon would say, a dreamer. All that said, I really like the way Casino Royale was more "grounded," I guess, than the previous movies.

Has there been interest in making a Q&C movie? Man, I'd love to see that.

Or a tv show or something.

Fox has had the rights to Q&C for several years, and several different drafts have been written by various folks (John Rogers, as I noted elsewhere, wrote the best one, in my opinion). I have faith that some day, a Q&C movie will be made. When and what it looks like, I've no idea.

Stupid Fox! *shakes fist*

I think Uma Thurman looks right for Tara. Maybe I'm picturing that wrong, since I haven't read Q&C for a bit. I need to check it again.

Greg,

I haven't read EVERYTHING you've written (of the comic work, it's been a good chunk with a novel or three on the side), but will Action Comics be your first real shot at a young male protagonist in a longer-form story/arc like this? I might be blanking on something obvious but nothing is coming to mind.

I don't have anyone specific in mind but I'd prefer they keep a British actress for Tara.

A big "Duh" to me. I'd prefer that, too. I'm not sure what I'm thinking there.

Rupert Everett as Paul Crocker!

Yeah, this'll be the first time writing a male of that age, at least in the mainstream. Kinda excited about it. He's...he's got some issues....

I've no objections to that.

That was more a response to something Matt had said, and the realization that there were characters "based" in the Midwest that it would be fun to put Nightwing and Flamebird opposite. The more I've thought about it, and the more I've discussed it with the others, the more I think they'll be moving pretty consistently, at least in the first 12 issues or so.

Now that you have finished writing the Final Crisis tie-ins for DC are you glad that it is over? It isn't that I didn't like your work, in fact, I think it has been some of your best, but I have always felt that you are a better writer when you are not having to be burdened by all the other stuff that is going on in the universe and really get a chance to focus on the individuals and what motivates them. Is that something that you prefer or something that doesn't really matter?

Greg, what's the release date for the Whiteout movie and Whiteout: Thaw? I've seen a lot of "2008", but with the year almost up and not having seen a relsease date for either yet...

Also, did you have any role in the casting for the film? Because, no offense to Kate Beckinsale because she's a very talented actress, but she's not the freckled face everywoman that Carrie is supposed to be.

Teen angst + super-powers = Awesome.

And that's the only time teen angst is awesome... my teenage years were not long ago... and those years would have been awesome with super-powers... but I don't have any of those... so those years, yeah, not so great.

We've been told that the movie will be released on September 11, 2009. And I had no say in any casting, but then again, I'd have been shocked if they'd asked me.

Whiteout: Night (not Thaw) will most likely start coming out Summer '09, to coincide with the film.
