Didn't Morrison give the origin of Weapon X???

You can call it whichever you want. The point was that there were 9 weapons before him. And the weapons that came after him, OOHH BOY... only from the mind of Morrison.

his run was good and definitive. Beginning, middle, end. As more comics should be. Sits nicely on my shelf and is the only X-Men I need to read. Besides, Wolverine cuts off Magneto's HEAD!! Eff Claremont!!

Sorry..... someone else tied the Weapon X program to the Super Soldier program, and that happened over in the Weapon X series.....It was the Mr. Sinister Issue.....so NO, Morrisson just bit off the concept, like he does with everything else he "writes"/apes/mimics/trashes when it comes to his run on "NEW" X-Men. I would've still loved his work, had he never touched the X-books....
