Default Geoff, We need to talk

Geoff, I have tremendous respect for you and everything you have written in the DCU. That is why I find it hard to believe that you would want to completely abolish the Linda Danvers Supergirl from continuity. Please tell me you did not support this decision.

Just because he wrote the story doesn't mean he approves or agrees with everything done. I'm sure there is TONS of editorial involvement on this one.

Yeah, this is a real slap in the face to long-time fans of the character. Peter David's Supergirl mythos was deep and well-crafted, and Linda has so far been the only interesting Supergirl since 1986, if not before. I loved Infinite Crisis, but it seems like this (and the re-addition of young Clark Kent as Superboy) is one of the very few pointless, negative changes.

It's one thing to simply stop referencing the character's existence, but to officially remove her from history? That's bad form.

I guess I missed something. She was removed from continuity in IC?

I believe the only removal was Didio saying she was no longer part of continuity in his latest Newsarama interview.

My beef is: no Scarecrow. Alex thought he was crazy enough but yet there was hardly any screen time for him, Geoff.

The biggest slap in the face is that DC is coming to everyone's house and taking back all of the Peter David back issues!

The David Supergirl might have been an elseworlds since David most likely will never return to Supergirl and Linda's adventures are continuing in Fallen Angel, kind of...

If you want to have more Linda stories, read Fallen Angel.

Otherwise the idea of (not the character herself) a protoplasmic goop called Matrix who merged with Linda Danvers then became an Earth-Angel to split off and leave Linda a Supergirl without a source of Powers except the powers the goop/Angel left her...

Whew...

The *Matrix* idea is not liked but the character of Linda Danvers is fine!

But still have those back-issues ready to be returned to DC!!

I would really like to start up a group for the PAD supergirl that would be much like HEAT. I am sure I could get a lot of people to join. Who's with me?

from PAD's blog:

Yeah, that's right. And this is me over here not caring. Now I don't have to worry that Linda Danvers is going to be brought back, raped and murdered.

That's not Linda in Fallen Angel. PAD was just being sly about it at first, but he's since made it clear that they are unrelated characters.

I too think this was an INCREDIBLY lame descision, and would much rather have had Kara be killed off than Linda. Kara isn't 1/10th the character that Linda was.
