I can see this fueling speculation for a good long while.

Who is the Grandmaster of the Manhunters?
ddf
I'm betting it's Krona.

What is the Igneous Man?
ddf
Obviously, the latest villain for the GLC.

Where is Sinestro?
ddf
I've been suspecting the bathroom, but most likely in the Central Power Battery.

And why will the most unlikely of sons become one of Hal Jordan's greatest enemies?

Hmmm.......Obsidian? Hal hits on Jade and Todd goes ballistic???

Carlos did two covers of "iconic" nature like this one. However, this one seems to blow those two away. I love it!

Also, there was an igneous GL during Jones' run. I think his name was AA or something like that. It could be him.

This appears to be a good stretch for Hal.

He'll be appearing in JSA Classified as well as in an issue of Action Comics written by Johns/Busiek.

I'm really excited by all this!

I bet the "son" will be Amon Sur. But why does Hal have Kyle's ring?

Because its just metal infused with power...It can be fixed with a thought..but the metal itself is not unbreakable.

Remember Alan's ring in Zero hour was crushed when Lax stepped on it? I'm sure others can site other examples if they looked.

There's really two or three questions in this one isn't there?

Who is the "son"?

Who is the "son's" "parent" that makes it so shocking?

And only then, "Why" is he becoming one of Hal Jordan's enemy? (Note, not necessarily a villain per se, at least not from this solicitation)

So many candidates and so little time. If I had to guess, sight unseen, I guess that Air Wave is intended and that the connection is that Hal might view him, in part, as a "son". Why he'd become an enemy might be linked to the Manhunters and there control of technology.

Another possiblity though is Ion, Kyle Rayner, who may be opposed to some action Hal or the Guardians are contemplating. Ion, for example, is known to focus on comappsion and forgiveness. Could he oppose the idea of destroying the Manhunters since they are just another life-form to Kyle?

A third possibilty is someone else's son like Llyr, the son of Vril Dox or Tomar Tre (or some such, anyway a son of an honored GL of the past).

But if somebody was really cooking with gas and had a great idea, the ultimate individualist "son" of Earth is probably Captain Comet, whose space-cowboy mentality and incredible powers could make him a formidable opponent for Hal and the entire GLC.

Anyway you slice it, this is probably one of the most interesting solicitations I've seen in a while.

Where did you hear that he was appearing in JSAC? Or was that just based on the cover? The JSAC cover seems to be not quite right to me. If it's Hal, then why doesn't he have a glove on, and why does he have wrinkles around his eyes? If it's Alan, why does he have the ring on his right hand? And the hair looks more like Hal too, though with the green glow, I don't think that's conclusive. Since this IS JSA, I suspect it's supposed to be Alan, and the ring is just on the wrong finger, but then again, in the recent JSA issue with Airwave, the ring swapped fingers several times, so maybe I'm wrong about the hand he normally wears it on. Has Vandal been both a JLA and JSA villain over the years?
