Default Hey! It's rumor time with All The Rage...! (spoilers!)

So as the title says, it's rumor time from All The Rage this time spotlighting our very own Birds of Prey and needless to say, there are potential spoilers here so this space is designated as the prerequisite spoiler space so no one inadvertantly mouses over and discovers news that they really do not wish to know, as some as likely to do unwittingly and thusly discover news they didn't want to know. For those of us who desire such news...proceed with the knowledge that you have been warned of a spoiler...

so here goes...

I found this tidbit over at All The Rage...make of it what you shall...

Shadow of The Bat

*****SPOILER WARNING!*****

(If true, the following may be considered an Infinite Crisis spoiler. YES, I’ve said this before, but there are a few new details. Highlight the hidden text at your own peril.)

The rumors of a new Gail Simone helmed Batwoman series are continuing to heat up. Though, when I initially heard the rumor back in early September, the project was still being touted as a new Batgirl series. Presumably, the title was changed to Batwoman because calling Barbara Gordon a “girl” would just sound strange at this point…

Anyway, the latest rumor is this: Simone may be reuniting with her Action Comics cohort, John Byrne on the new Batwoman. And there’s also a rumor that Black Canary might be up for her own series as well…

So, if both founding members get their own titles, where would this leave Birds of Prey? Simone may have dropped an interesting hint a while ago when she started a thread which raised the speculative possibility of the book continuing after the One Year Gap without ANY returning members…

This Has A “Daughter of Cain” Factor of Six Out of Ten

I dont suppose that we could even dream of getting Gail to comment on this one, huh?

Batwoman by Gail would be interesting, not to sure if I would like John Byrne on the title as the artist, his renditions of women are not to my liking, now if DC could get Alex Malevv to leave his Spider-woman ongoing to jump on Batwoman (no pun intended) that would be really sweet!

You know, I don't mean to be mean about this, but this guy for some reason NEVER gets his rumors about me right. His last four have been completely wrong, and I don't quite get who his 'sources' are.

I'm sure he's a nice guy, but YIKES.

Rich Johnston, say what you like, takes the two minutes to write and ask if something's true or not, and consequently, has been very accurate indeed.

Oh, well.

Thats food for thought. Thanks for the honest heads up Gail.

Does that mean no Black Canary solo series? Drat.

Oh well. As long as your still bringing us BoP each month I'm happy as can be.

So Gail, does that mean that Rich is right and you will not be writing the new Batwoman series.

If you aren't, then what have you thought of Batgirl by Andersen Gabrych and do you think (or know) that he'll be writing the series and Cassie Cain will be called Batwoman after OYL?

Sounds like what Johnston got wrong about the Batwoman series is that Byrne will be writing and Simone will be drawing, not the other way around, as rumoured.
