Question Dark X-Men Beginning #3 - Preview

For anyone who is curious, here's a peek at some of my pages from issue 3 of the prequel, Dark X-Men: Beginning.

Page 5 - Page 6 - Page 7 - Page 8

Next up, I'll be drawing the four issue Dark X-Men mini-series with Paul Cornell writing and Jay Leisten inking. So the whole Captain Britain creative gang will be back in the saddle again.

That Dark X-Men mini will be great. I loved Cornell's little Namor story. I'm glad to see the MI 13 band's back together for a high profile gig.

Every time I see a new X-Book I wish Marvel would stop bandwagoning on anything mutant. And seeing the word "dark" in front of it makes me go "Enough already." That being said, this looks like a great read with great art and a intriguing plot. When all is said and done I want to see where Namor is when its all finished. I'm hoping he'll get his own book and pop up in the X-books more.

Thanks.

I understand the sentiment about the number of X-Men projects, though. It can be a bit of a put-off to some readers.

Don't get me wrong, if it sells I don't blame Marvel. As a long time reader of the franchise I do see a watered down effect on it when too much is being done. It wouldn't surprise me if that was the thinking of the "no more mutants" action in House of M. But if it sells, it sells. Give the public what it wants. If it means anything, I want you to draw a Sub-Mariner series.

Got to tell you Leonard, you draw a hot Namor. I can easily say that and I'm not gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Not bad... So far, I liked the Utopia tie-ins.
Well, I like the whole Dark Reign story.
First, the Dark Avengers, then the Dark X-Men, what's next, a Dark Fantastic Four? I'd like to see that!
