I think Perez had some, but for me Lee had one more issue that really told the story.

And people ask why there is no "Teen Lantern."- Green Lantern John Stewart in Teen Titans #6

I would actually say both. Perez seems to tell the overall general story, while Lee seems to tell specific events.

So far every issue except three goes to Perez. Lee's cover for issue three set up a great moral dilemma, and was beautiful.

Looking at it from the point of view of embodying the story and the power of the covers, for me it is a straight down the middle tie.

Issue #1 and Issue #2 go to Perez.
Issue #3 and Issue #4 go to Lee.

Lee wins #4 because the one indelible takeaway from issue #4 will be Superboy's meltdown.

While I agree with that as an abstract statement, it does not mean that each and every case Perez will "tell" a better story. It means that over time he will have a more consistent and higher batting average than Lee.

It's like all those idiotic "X vs. Y" threads or "who is the best martial artist" threads - they all work on this weird assumption that a comparison or conflict with yield the same result each and every time. Anyone who has ever actually been in a fight, or heck, even watched sports knows that is not the case.

If you measure each issue of "Infinite Crisis" by the core story idea and the cover's ability to convey that idea, it seems to me hard to argue that Perez beats Lee on #3 and #4. Issues #1 and #2 - absolutely. But not #3 or #4. Yes we had the loss of Paradise Island in #3, but Perez's cover just showed the big OMAC smackdown. Lee's cover, on the other hand, captured core of that issue - the choice Batman had to make (not only the choice Superman offered, but the choice within himself).

Similarly, Perez's cover of the space heroes in from the void doesn't really capture the heart of the story like Lee's did. Other than Alex's giant hands popping through the void at the end nothing happened in space.

Perez's covers for #3 and #4 point to key moments in the story, but any understanding or insight into those moments is missing - compare that to his cover of issue #2, which really does embody the essence and "key moment" of the story.

# 2 cover by Jim Lee shows Earth 2 Supes and Lois/ Alexander Luthor and Superboy Prime with Power Girl which was pretty spoilerific as to who some of the players are going to be in Infinite Crisis.

# 5 by Jim Lee shows the new Beetle/ booster and Batman with two WW in the background which is big news too.

#1 could be either--I prefer the Perez

#2 is Perez, for showing the multiverse

#3 is Lee, for showing Batman encountering his Earth-2 counterparts

#4 is Perez, for showing Alex trying to alter the universe

#5 is Perez--both covers feature multiple Earths, but the 2 Superman are more recognizable and distinct than the 2 Wonder Woman on Lee's cover.
