Default SPOILERS Superman 3.0 - "The Man Of Steel"

Only a rumor at this point, but I'm excited with Christopher Nolan being involved.

I'd be surprised if Nolan actually helms this. I'd think one superhero franchise on the resume would be enough for a director. IMO, Warner Bros. should just shell out the dough for Spielberg or Jackson.

I'd rather they continue with Singer/Routh's Superman.

Nolan's first Batman Begins made a respectable approx. $240m domestic?
Singer's made approx. $170m domestic?

The WB made unfair expectations for Superman (I think).
They should allow Singer to continue, since Singer wanted the next Supes to be "Wrath of Khan/Empire Strikes Back". Besides, we're talking about the director that made one of the best genre sequels X2 ever.

I agree with you but that's not going to happen unfortunately. It's too bad because Singer had a great idea for a second movie which was set up in the first one.

If Heath Ledger wasn't in TDK, how good would it have been?

I'm a little wary about this. Chris Nolan seems a little too grounded to be taking on Superman. But you know what, I'll pass judgement after hearing more details. It's only fair, right?

Very good, considering he was my least favorite part of the film.

Of course, you're the minority. The masses recognized Heath as the best part of the movie.

I understand that but take out The Joker and you would still have had a solid movie about Harvey Dent.

I could be wrong though.

I still think it would have been good. But ho good would have depended on who they would have been able to get to play the Joker.

It's an interesting question, but I'm not really sure. Harvey stood out, but TDK was pretty much about the Joker. Heath's performance overshadowed everything else.

No, IMO you're right. But the Joker gives a big reason for Dent to go all Two-Face on us.

I actually hope the next movie has only one villain in it and not two. If you keep adding and adding you eventually get Batman and Robin.

You also have to factor in Ledgers death.

Honestly you cannot deny that it helped the praise he garnered.
It happens sometimes when a famous person dies. There praise usually goes through the roof.

Maybe, but it still causes me to wonder. Batman Begins has a lot of flaws, you know? I mean, I love it, but I love anything involving Batman.

But that also helped increase the praise for the movie itself.

Same here. I would have preferred to have Two-Face be the villain of the next film. The Dark Night would have been an excellent set up.
