Default Green Lantern Movie! (Spoilers)

http://www.variety.com/article/VR111...query=lantern#

Not too excited about the director. But at least its not the horrible Jack Black idea that was floating around last time...

And its Hal Jordan so thats good news for me. Now who to cast? I wouldnt mind Nathan Fillion...

How about really surprising the fans by FINISHING some movies before announcing some others? The more things supposedly "in the works", the less likely anything is going to get through.

Having Marc attached was a nice surprise.
It's a bit early to comment yet, but there's nothing there that's set off any alarm bells.

That's what passes for journalism these days?

No mention of Marc's DC work, and they call Superman /Batman a Marvel book?

With errors this blatant, why should we trust anything else in that article?

Dennis Hayworth- yes, he's the Allstate guy, right? If so, he was great in Far From Heaven.

Sean William Scott - yes

Eric Dane - not familiar with this guy.

Sean William Scott is an underrated actor. I thought he did a great job in Bulletproof Monk and the Rundown (w/ The Rock).

I agree. At least they should be some shooting of film. Do they even have a script?

Hmm...I think they need someone with a bit more muscular/stocky build and "tough guy" look for Gardner. He was a college football player, after all. The mental image I have for him is a somewhat shorter, bulldog-ish guy. The kind of guy who's 5'8"-5'10" but looks ready to take on an entire bar at once.

I'm trying to think of someone suitably fighter pilot-ish to play Jordan. The mental image I have is something of a combination of Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer from "Top Gun."

Heres a bit more info

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/...8944cef6b71190

The director apparently is the one who sought this out, so at least hes not some hired gun with no prior knowledge. Clearly the director Berlanti is more on the fanboy side of the fence.

You know I took a good five minutes before I entered this thread just because i've been so angry at the JLA movie but this seem promising.

Well I don't watch any of those shows they mention (except that one of the writers is one of the writers from Heroes) but I'm still excited to see this movie (if it ever comes out)

This could be a genre pusher, the first grand space adventure super hero flick. The possibilities for this property are endless on the big screen, I hope they don't mess it up.
