I actually enjoy Smallville quite a bit. It's a little formulaic, but I actually think that works for them, not against them. I'm cautiously excited for this next season (though I haven't seen any of the footage) simply because I think their focus has tightened up as the show has gone on.

That being said, I think this should be the last year. We've been jumping back and forth across a certain line (especially in regards to Clark's relationship with Lex, but to a lesser extent his relationships with Lana and Lois as well), and I'd like it much more if they jumped over the line and ended the show, rather than having it cancelled on them and never getting to do it themselves.

I don't really see why Chloe needs to die though, Lois has been evolving in that direction for a while now.

It's stupid they can't use BRUCE WAYNE on Smallville.

Is ALFRED PENNYWORTH Batman Movie domain????

(They can call Bruce Alfie)

The theory among fans has been that it would be Chloe's death that would serve as the catalyst for Clark to don the cape as well as be the reason as to why she isn't in current continuity. But as I mentioned earlier DC has acquired the character's rights so that could all be out the window now.

I also agree that this should be the last season for the show. If Battlestar Galactica can call it quits "because its time" then I think so can Smallville. I'm wondering how Clark will function in the stories this season with Martha gone half the time. I remember when Dr. Beverly Crusher was let go from Star Trek: The Next Generation after the first season and replaced with Dr. Pulaski. Wesley Crusher was okay the second season but he was a much stronger charcter with his mother back. I'm wondering if the same will be true with Martha out of the picture part of the time?

Okay, watched the replay of the season finale. So cool. To recap, what we saw was:

-Martha leaving the farm and moving to Washington DC for her job as senator.
-J'Onn J'Onzz motally wounded while fighting a wraith.
-The revelation that both Lionel and J'Onn were charged by Jor-el with watching over Clark.
-Lana getting caught in an explosion when her car is bombed.
-Clark revealing his secret to Lana.
-Lois being fatally stabbed while trying to infiltrate Lex's lab.
-Lex creating a super-army for the military.
-Chloe resurrecting Lois with new healing powers at the expense of her own life.
-Introduction of a bizarre clone of Clark.
-Said clone throwing Lionel against a cement wall, possibly killing him.
-Lex being arrested and charged with the murder of Lana.
-The clone turning into Bizarro.

I think that's everything. Love the commercials for the season premiere. Two weeks from tonight!!!!

I'd have to agree that it is probably time to drop the curtain on this series. It's been great while it has lasted, but it is time to wrap it up.

I keep hope alive that perhaps Welling would be cast for the Superman role in the JLA movie. That'd be nice actually, considering we know it won't be Routh.

From different things I have read I think there may still be hope. I have not read anything that confirms she will not be dead but just have a feeling that she is going to be sticking around.

I heard that Lana will be back and so will Chloe.

I finally saw the season finale last week. (I missed most of it the first time around)

Man, that was the second best season finale ever. (Season 5 is the best, with Lex/Zod over Metropolis being ripped apart)

I hope Lionel stays through the season (I've always think Lionel is a great character).

I hope we get a little humor from Supergirl. (I think we will)

And the rumors I read: Lois vs Lex (Lois starts to become the Lois we all know and love)

I enjoyed the first 5 seasons. But now I'm kind of tired of it, to me they made Clark into a whimp, and also have Lois fall for "every guest star" really annoys me. i have nothing to look foward to in this show. But I am afraid that once this goes off the air it'll be a while for another super-hero show to come on the air.

I just picked up the DVDs for the last season yesterday and am quickly working my way through them to catch up. I liked what I saw so far.

I'm ready for season 7. I hope we see more of the Bizarro/Clark fight.
