That machine started up 3 years ago.
The reason why I'm so uptight about their selection and the script is becaue I see Wonder Woman as an iconic figure for women everywhere. Just like the boys have Batman and Supes, the girls have Wonder Woman. She is a symbol of independence, power, and self-respect, three traits that all women should have for themselves. And for them to just cast any actress that is seen as an object rather than a human is not gonna fly with me. Just how Diana is one of the noblest of characters, they need to select one of the noblest of actresses.

And I agree with everything you say here. So... considering they haven't begun casting this movie yet (much less finished writing it, according to Whedon) what is there to get worked up about?

I want as much as anyone for a Wonder Woman movie to succeed, but I'm refusing to get uptight over a process that is still in it's infant stages. It's like looking at an acorn and complaining that it's too small of a tree.

Total agreement. I hope she gets serious consideration, and not just because of the Whedon connection.

It's amazing how many supposed fans are burying this movie before the script is even finished.

I'm still looking forward to the movie; doesn't stop me worrying about the script, however!

Is it wrong that i want a "mature" Wonder Woman, and not a Pretty face with a good body in the role?

I don't want a Alba type actress getting the role just to draw in the male audience...

I will say until the day i die that the role should go to Lucy Lawless is a perfect warrior princess!!!

Definately.

If I can't have a 30-something Wonder Woman (preferably Connelly), then I would gladly accept Morena.

Tips hat to Dan and Super-Boy Prime, your the first people to agree with me on that.
I have to say I'm fine with the fact that they are taking their time with this, I'd much rather see things going this way than having the studio breathing down Joss's neck to get the script finished and cast whatever flavor of the month happens to be hot at the moment.

It's not wrong at all Taco

And in the tragic event of your death I shall carry on the "Lucy Lawless is a perfect warrior princess!!!" mantra until I pass on or vice-versa

Morena Baccarin definately looks pretty enough (understatement I know!) but I only know her from Firefly/Serenity in terms of on screen acting. My only fear, like others, is they cast someone too slight in build, or to put it another way a pretty woman who doesn't look like a warrior. Not that WW should be charging about hacking peoples heads off all the time but to have a typical Hollywood starlet type (not that Baccarin is) come in and have super powers on screen would just push the visual towards the "camp" end for the audience maybe.

It's a fine line I guess. She can't look too sweet and pretty as to be unconvincing as an Amazon (the two aren't mutually exclusive but you catch my drift) but her beauty is a great part of WW's character so it's finding an actress who can bring both these elements to the role.

Of the younger actresses mentioned so far I'd go with Baccarin at the moment.
