I like "The Man of Steel" as a title.

My overwhelming sens is one of encountering hubris, just as IO did when Grant Morrison and DC claimed he had "created" the Atom. I have yet to see the 're-invention' that matches the original, but that's just me, I suppose.

Sometimes icons are icons for a reason. Superman is one of them. They exist beyond all of us. Let the author beware.

So do I. Great title. Though I suspect it'll be tweaked to say, "Superman: Man of Steel".

By the way, Variety confirms it: http://www.variety.com/article/VR111...goryid=13&cs=1.

I'd still like to read Millars script. Good or bad , it would probably be entertaining at least

"Man of Steel" makes sense as a title, just as "The Dark Knight" did for Batman. If they follow this trend, the second Flash movie will be titled "Scarlet Speedster".

As I recall, that decision was made prior to the 2nd week of release. They were all excited about the opening, then the movie fizzled. I think the studio may have second thoughts now. Just my opinion.

From The New York Times:
Even Hit Like ‘Kick-Ass’ Can Seem Like Miss at Debut
LOS ANGELES — In early April, as Lionsgate prepared to release “Kick-Ass,” the movie capital buzzed that the film looked to be a smash hit. Lionsgate had acquired it for just $15 million, and surveys that track audience interest projected a $30 million opening weekend.

The movie, directed by Matthew Vaughn, instead opened with $19.8 million, and the chatter, fueled by the blogosphere, abruptly turned negative. Misfire! Bomb! Flop!

As it turns out, “Kick-Ass” is living up to its title. The picture, about a teenager who tries to become a superhero, went on to generate about $97 million in ticket sales and is on track to sell over two million copies on DVD and digital download services. Still to come: lucrative sales to TV channels around the world.

That result is a reminder that a movie’s financial obituary can rarely be written after a single weekend — a practice that has grown more prevalent as a weakening DVD market has reignited an obsession with box office statistics.

No.

Jon Hamm IS Batman. He already has the whole personality and look down from Mad men. Just train him and get him in the suit. I would take him over Christian Bale anytime.

You could probably start a SUPERIOR thread. Different topic and all

Kinda wishing Millar would just not talk. He puts so much blowhard bs out into the world. Over it.

Believe it or not, I LOVE COMICS!!! and it's only hard to tell because I know that they can be and SHOULD BE better.
