Default GL's Oath: will it be back?

This is something I've missed for a long time:
In brightest day...
In blackest night,
No evil shall escape my sight!
Let those who worship evil's might
Beware my power---
Green Lantern's Light!

Will Hal & company use it again? pro or con your opinions....or do you have a new oath you'd like to add!

The oath rocks. It's one of the coolest things about the whole GL mythos. I love the oath.

Yes, it should be back.

I'd like to see Hal use his oath, and during the conclusion of rebirth the rest of the gls backing his play using his oath, BUT I would love to see more individualized oaths from the lanterns, it can be a great way for a writer to highlight the differences in the gls.

Default Oath meh...

To me, Green Lantern without the oath would be like Superman sans his cape.

I agree. Maybe it won't be used all the time, but I think it will come back either to recharge or give an extra boost of power to the rings.

I am sure that it will be back. Remember when Kyle went back in time to Hal's time in Emerald Knights, he said how good the oath made him feel!!! Maybe Kyle will get an oath:-)

I say the oath before I take part in any major business deal or I romance a model. It makes me feel invincible.

The oath is one of those things I think need to be standard for all the Lanterns.

I like them wearing different uniforms, variations on a theme, but they should all take the same oath.

Admit it, there's something infinitely cool about a large group of Lanterns all reciting the oath together....

Okay, here is a semi-complete list of the various oaths spoken by the various Green Lanterns.

...And I shall shed my light over dark evil...for the dark things cannot stand the light...the light of Green Lantern!

This oath appeared in All-American Comics #16 (Alan Scott's first appearence) and #18.

...And I shall shed my light upon dark evil, for the dark things cannot stand the light,,,the light of the Green Lantern!

A slight preposition change and you have the oath that appeared in All-American Comics numbers 38 and 45.

I shed my light upon dark evil! For evil cannot stand the light of Green Lantern!

A slightly shortened oath from Green Lantern #4 (Golden-Age).

My rays strike the darkest corner, banishing all wickedness.

Yeah, that's pretty screwed up. From All-American Comics #45.

As the green rays strike forth into darkness, so may all black evil be exposed and driven away.

Another wacky oath. From All-American Comics #47.

Let the light of the Lantern penetrate the dark places of ignorance and wrong, setting all minds right and overthrowing all servants of evil!

and

I shed my light upon the darkness! Evil has no place to hide itself! Green Lantern goes forth to conquer!

Both of these appeared in Green Lantern (Golden-Age) #5. Again, very strange.

So there you are. I got these oath from an article in Roy Thomas' Alter-Ego (vol. 3) #7 from Winter 2001. I thought you would all be interested.

Also, I seem to remember a scene in I think Action Comics #589 where Salakk recited the standard Golden-Age oath. Anyone else remember this?

I dunno, an army of Lanterns reciting the oath would be cool, but if, say, Rot Lop Fan is coming back, he'd feel a little out of place, eh? Eh, I'm sure he'd play along.

Still, there's something to be said for individuality... Yowza!

Gotta have the oath.

How awesome was it hearing it out loud during season one of the animated Justice League?
