If the original gang is involved in some capacity, it might be interesting. "Baby Oscar" would be in his early twenties now, wouldn't he?

Dan Akroyd talks and possibly leaks a basic premise.

There's a reason the article has a pic of "Extreme Ghostbusters"...

From /film: Aykroyd Reveals Details of New Ghostbusters ‘Leader’ and Busting Tech
Aykroyd also mentions that Bill Murray’s condition for returning was that Ernie Hudson’s previously underwritten role as Winston Zeddemore would be beefed up to put him on equal footing with the others. A class move, Mr. Murray.

Aykroyd also notes to the Guide reporter that he has two new big ideas of his own:

I have what I think are two great cool science fiction stories myself right now and I think I’m gonna skip the movies altogether and find some gamers, maybe go with these guys again. I’ll just give them the scripts and say, ‘pretend this movie got made’.

Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky have been writing the new film - and judging from his comments, sharing every draft with Aykroyd. Production is apparently possible for the end of the year, so a Summer 2011 launch isn’t too unlikely.

looks good though the graphics seemingly went from "realistic" to "cartoony".

WHen they first released screenshots from this game it looked like it had a totally different "style" to it. Oh well it still looks good.

I'm lovin' all this interest in GHOSTBUSTERS and I'm hangin' on every new bit of info as its released...

...but...

...a small part of me sort of wishes that the Boys in Grey could just, y'know, bust ghosts and not have to deal with all the other-dimensional stuff and hooey.

GB1 was great because it was also SCARY and - for the most part - dealt with busting ghosts, Gozer aside.

Jim!

Harold Ramis Discusses The Development Of GHOSTBUSTERS 3
In the interview, Ramis doesn't reveal much about what we'll see in the currently-in-development GHOSTBUSTERS 3 (III, whatever) - but does discuss what we're not likely to see (presuming rational heads prevail on the project - which is far from a given in this biz). He also slaps around INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL a bit, which earns him many extra points in my book.

I played through the video game and it was amazing though the game was short. It's was great to hear the old voices and the story was really good it had equal parts funny and very scary situations. Ramis and Aykroyd did mention some aspects of the game would be in the movie. So, don't be surprised if you see Lewis teaching some new recruits for a franchise.

Just saw a current photo of the twins who played Baby Oscar in GB2...they really should be in GB3. They would be perfect as new 'Busters!

Over on CBR, they have a video from an interview with Sigourney Weaver. They talk about Ghostbusters 3. Apparently, she has read a version of the script, and she says Oscar will be in GB3 as a Ghosbuster, and Peter Venkman (Bill Murray) will be in it as a ghost.

Awesome! I'm assuming if she read a script, she'll be in it too. Not sure about Peter as a ghost, but I'm happy if it means Bill Murray's on board.

If you'd read the article, she says she has a part, just not a large one and there is speculation she may have been joking about Murrays' age.

Peter as a ghost could be cool. Especially if he can still use a photon pack. Maybe in defeating the villain, they could find a way to bring him back to the land of the living.
