If the original gang is involved in some capacity, it might be interesting. "Baby Oscar" would be in his early twenties now, wouldn't he?

Yes, he would.

Personally, I think the ship has long since set sail for GB3, but we'll see; I want one more outing as much as any other Ghosthead.

I've heard all of this talk, including rumors that Chris Rock, Seth Rogen, and someone else were rumored to be new Ghostbusters with all the original cast. But from what I've heard and what has been mentioned above is that this isn't a straight reboot, but will be a continuation of the previous 2 movies but introducing new characters for a new franchise.

Originally I didn't care much for the Office but after watching the first three seasons on Netflix, I am happy to hear that writers from the Office are working on GB3.

Children of the 80's are the best children.

Not like those PC 90's kids.

This is funny. I was just talking about this with my dad a few days ago after watching GB 2 on tv. I was telling him how I thought it would be cool if someone did a remake with all new guys.

My cast was:
Peter Venkman played by Paul Rudd (The 40 Year-Old Virgin, Role Models)

Ray Stantz played by Seth Rogan (Pineapple Express, Superbad)

Winston Zeddemore played by Craig Robinson (pineapple express, the office)

Egon Spengler played by ? (I couldn't think of someone to capture Egon's greatness)

See, the interesting thing here about a "great script" is that SO much of what made GHOSTBUSTERS I so utterly memorable was ad libbed.

Which is not to say that these guys can't come up with a great script that lays down a solid platform for a story but we need some of that unique Murray ad libbing and the irreplacebale interactions between Bill, Dan and Harold...and Ernie, of course.

And is actually the one cast member I'd leave OUT! He was relevant for the first movie but was just shoe-horned in (along with Slimer) for the second one. I'd like to see Annie Potts return though.

I'd be down for a new generation coming in with the originals. Give me Seth Rogen, Michael Cera, Kal Penn and how about a lady? Tina Fey.

It would be the natural evolution of the business and come full circle with Akroyd and Belushi's original concept, which was to have teams stationed all over the world and chasing ghosts through time and space.

Akroyd and Belushi's concept? I never knew Belushi had input with this. Pretty cool.

I'm excited for this film!

I just hope they don't get some horrible trendy singer or group to remake the Ghostbusters theme. (Like the Jonas Brothers...)

They should, however, bring back Ecto Cooler Hi-C though as a tie-in promotion! I used to love that stuff!

I can't see them doing that.

They'd get someone better.

I only hope the four replacement Ghosbusters aka the new guys are good actors and not some pretty boys. One of them is bound to be a woman in this day and age.

Tina Fey would make an awesome Ghost Buster! She could take over the Egon Spengler part with ease.

Yeah, originally, Akroyd developed the concept with Belushi, with the two of them starring as the lead GB's. They were close to moving forward when Belushi overdosed; obviously, of course, Akroyd continued to fine tune and polish the concept until it reached its famous iteration.
