Default He-Man: the movie

By The Power Of Greyskull! More Ď80s Childhood Memories Headed To The Bigscreen, Thanks To Joel Silver!
Right now, though, weíre seeing a revival of all the things that were important to Ď80s kids, and for a while now, weíve been hearing rumors that HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE would be one of the properties getting the big-budget treatment. Remember when John Woo was supposedly doing it? Since then, Iíve seen Adam Rifkinís name attached to it for a while, and IMDb hilariously had M. Night Shyamalan listed as the writer for a brief period.

However, I can tell you today exclusively who IS writing the film: Justin Marks.

If you donít recognize the name, you will soon. Justinís the guy who is writing SUPERMAX, the Green Arrow in prison movie that David Goyer is producing for Warner/DC. Heís also writing bigscreen versions of VOLTRON and STREET FIGHTER. So basically, Justin Marks is the most gainfully employed professional fanboy on the planet right now.

Joel Silverís going to be producing HE-MAN as soon as Marks finds time to write it, and Warner Bros. is going to be releasing the film if it makes it through the development process. I canít wait to see what kind of heated talkback debates this announcement creates, so get to it!

I hope it's better and more faithful to the colorful source material than Dolph Lundgren's flick was. As much as I enjoyed that, I don't think the movie needs to have anything to do with Earth or Earth teenagers in order to be relatable and fun.

I had a friend send me a link a week ago that Brad Pitt was seeking the role of He-Man and seemed to be in talks to be the star.

Dolph Lundgren is like 6'4 and 300 pounds he barely looked like He-Man! Will all Eternians be cast as midgets to compensate the size differential to make him look like He-man then?

They should get the dude from 300. And they better have Battle Cat.

If this is done right it could be really cool. I really liked the latest He-Man cartoon from a few years back. It was nice to see the origin of Skeletor!

If they get him Angie would make a great She-Ra.

Though I have to admit the idea of seeing a husband and wife playing a bro and sis would seem kind of strange

Jade: I'll take care of it for you, Obie.

Atom: Obie!? You call a thing like that--OBIE??

Angelina grew up on that game, didn't she?

No wait, that was bro and sis acting like husband and wife...

Agreed. That was one of the best things about the recent cartoon, having a film showing Skeletor's face melting origin would be very cool

Skeletor used to be a warlord named Keldor who tried to conquer the Hall Of Wisdom and got his own own acid attack deflected back at his face. Hordak, his master, saved his life but had to take away his skin etc leaving a cool looking, if improbable, floating skull!

It can't be Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face bad, though. OH SNAP!

I read that Pitt was up for He-Man.

The fact that they're remaking a Masters of the Universe movie in the first place blows my mind. Picturing Brad Pitt screaming "I HAVE THE POWER!" makes me pee a little as a giggle
