Default The Comicbloc's Artist's Profile!

Ok folks, PMH and I decided that this forum needs an introduction thread where the awesome artists of Comicbloc can tell us about themselves. You can be a penciller, a scripter, a inker, or a colorist. We want to hear from you!

Here's a few things we'd like to know:

-Name

-Age

-Location

-Are you a penciller, colorist, inker or writer?

-Current occupation (If you're working on a comic book, go ahead and plug it here, too!)

-Inspiration

-Your Style

-Favorite Piece of work (This is where you can put in one or two pieces of your work. Try to keep them within a reasonable size, please.)

-Bio (If you want to, or can, tell us a bit more about yourself!)

These questions are all optional, you don't have to answer if you don't want to. It's just a fun way for PMH and I to get to know you all more. Hopefully it'll be fun for you, too! Can't wait to see these...

Hope it's ok for me to chime in.

-Name - Cliff

-Age - 38

-Location - Georgia, USA

-Are you a penciller, colorist, inker or writer? Penciler I suppose. I like to draw.

-Current occupation - Retail.

-Inspiration - Comics have always been my inspiration when I draw. If it wasn't for comics I might not have drawn as much! No one person or artist in particular.

-Your Style - Not sure what my style is. I'm probably more old school though.

-Favorite Piece of work - A couple of group shots I am quite pleased with.

-Bio - Not much to tell. Married. Have a daughter from a previous relationship. Spent 4 years in the USMC. Got my Associate's Degree in Art. I don't draw much but I've been enjoying being creative again and sharing my work here.

-Are you a penciller, colorist, inker or writer?
Penciler/Writer

-Current occupation
Butcher. I also do small art projects on the side, but don't get paid for them..yet, here's hoping though.

-Inspiration
I've been drawings since I was a kid. Superman has always been my biggest inspiration to draw, but comics in general and the want to turn this hobby into a profession drives me now.

-Your Style
Uhmmm....Faux realism I gues...which is fancy for comic art. Though I can do photo realism as well.

-Favorite Piece of work
Here's an older example of my photo realism:

and a more recent example of my comic art work:

-Bio (If you want to, or can, tell us a bit more about yourself!)
I was born and raised in Houston, TX.
I am happily married to my beautiful wife Peggy (also as BooyahsBaby is a member of these Boards)
And we currently live in a small city in Western Kentucky.
I am a huge DC buff though I do read some Marvel.
My favorite character is Superman
My favorite writer is a tossup between Geoff Johns and Gail Simone.
I ahve too many favorite artists to name here.
And my favorite food is Pizza
I love the Bloc and look forward to getting to know my fellow Crit Forum compadres better.

-Are you a penciller, colorist, inker or writer?: All (except coloring, I don't do enough of it) and no one has seen my writing

-Current occupation (If you're working on a comic book, go ahead and plug it here, too!) : Comic Shop employee, and working on a mighty cool book titled Veritas. Also, I may have a 6-page story published soon.

-Inspiration : Artwise - J.H. Williams III, Rags Morales, J.G. Jones, Tony Harris, Bryan Hitch, Ivan Reis, many others. Writing - Grant Morrison, Geoff Johns, Brubaker, Gardner Fox, Jack Kirby, others...

-Are you a penciller, colorist, inker or writer? - writer, inker, penciler, and I can colour as well

-Current occupation (If you're working on a comic book, go ahead and plug it here, too!) - I'm an artist and photographer. 95% of my money comes from photography right now. Working on a self-published comic (see other posts) I also have a web-strip, tho it's sorely in need of updating (see signature link)

-Inspiration - Many things inspire me. I've been drawing since I was little. I was inspired by Bill Black's Paragon Publications pro-zines from the 1970's (his pre-AC Comics/FemForce material)... it's not the best story or art, but it's good enough to be enjoyable. I like that he got into publishing his own work.

-Your Style - cartoonish. I'm influenced a lot these days by Dan DeCarlo, Fernando Ruiz, and other Archie artists. I can also draw in a semi-realistic style, but it's a lot of work for me to do so and have it look good. (But, that said, drawing cartoony is not easy either.)

-Favorite Piece of work -
The Jughead card is all me! This other piece, of my original character Tyler, was penciled by Darrel Miller and inked/coloured by me.

-Bio - I was born and raised in Jacksonville. I am a self-taught artist and photographer. In addition to art and photography, I also paint, do bead-work (and sometimes I make glass beads!), and create music - tho the music is thanks to a computer program called Acid. I love DC Comics, as well as Marvel. I also enjoy independen comics, and have become passionate about Archie Comics, and other "teen humour" comics.

-Current occupation: Full Time student. I'm also working on a story for jsalwen's big time anthology project too.

-Inspiration: Anyone who I think is better than me.

-Your Style: Ever changing. Other people are better suited to describe my style than myself.

-Are you a penciller, colorist, inker or writer? Well I am mainly a colourist, but I can draw not that well but still decent and I have some ideas to write, and I am not sure about inking, I know how to darken lines on photoshop, so that is as close as I can.

-Current occupation: Student Worker- I work at my college doing odd jobs around the place. I plan on being a Graphic Designer/Artist/Video Editor.

-Inspiration: Well I don't know the first thing I ever coloured in on Photoshop was Mystery in Space #1, I don't really know what inspired me.

-Your Style: 2d on the artwork, I don't know how to make my characters look 3d really. My Colouring style is well I have no idea.

-Favorite Piece of work: This is hard but

For Colouring:

This is Jason Baroody's Pencils

For my own drawing:

-Bio:

I'm Jon Cutler, I was born in Florida and then moved to Nevada, my life has been pretty much hell from school, I graduated High School at 16, and Started College the day before my graduation. I go to ITT Tech, for multimedia, it helped further my skills with different Graphical Programs and I am about graduate in a few months. I've been working with Photoshop for 3 years, so I am pretty good with it. I got back into comics about 3 years ago, and so happy I did. You guys don't need the nitty gritty details of my life.
