WOOO!

Sounds awesome. I love American Gods. With Stardust and Beowulf, I guess it was a matter of time before they adapted another book, just glad it's this one.

Gaiman is about my favorite author. Sandman and Neverwhere are still my two favorite things by him but I think the more of his work adapted to the big or small screen the better. Very cool news.

I'd love to see this movie. I think Gaiman would have to be involved though

Gaiman always seems to be involved in some capacity. Whether the end product winds up being awesome or crappy, he just seems to get a kick out of watching the whole process unfold. It's one of the reasons I like the guy; he doesn't seem to subscribe to the whole Alan Moore, "A curse upon ye for even considering it!" mentality.

And an American Gods movie? Sounds cool. Can they fit the whole book into a movie? Hell no. But, can they make a kick-ass movie out of a selected cross-section of stuff from the book? I think so.

Should be interesting. Loved the book. If HBO are doing it then they should do it justice. I don't despair any more when I hear of a TV adaptation of something I like, which is good.
