Default Superman: Lois and Clark

http://www.newsarama.com/25766-super...ontinuity.html

More information on this.

It's essentially the same premise as the short-lived Worlds' Finest with Huntress and Power Girl and I can't see it having much more longevity than that unless it becomes a springboard to something else.

I would have preferred that they had their own Earth to play on but it's still sufficiently intriguing to give it a go.

I'm definitely giving it a go.

I was surprized that the Earth they're living on is Prime Earth, but am curious whether the married Lois & Clark won't be a big draw (it will for me). It does also adds a little more gravity to their activities since it's not on a "nonsensical" Earth where their actions might matter less.

I think I'd be inclined to view their Earth as the "real" one and the New 52 Earth as the alternate - something DC would probably want to discourage.

in previous situations like this the alternate earth Superman has been just that, but in this case I feel as if I'll be viewing the Nu 52 guy as the alternate and married Clark as the "real" one.

Not stoked about him being married and having a kid...that's historically been hard for writers to make interesting for some reason and starting out the book with a status quo that is usually reserved for something jumping the shark in the entertainment biz might not be the best choice toward actually making this last...

but despite it all this might be the Superman i can get behind...for all of the six issues it gets.

Lee Weeks is worth the price of admission but out of the 2 issues Convergence: Superman he was set for he only appeared on 1. hope he can keep a schedule.

I notice this is being described in the print ads as a 12 issue limited series.
Disappointing but not surprising.

Loved issue #1. I'm not always a huge fan of Jurgens writing, but in this case he's crafted a great way of incorporating the classic Lois & Clark into the modern DCU. It also enables the characters to progress in a way they'll never be able to in the nu52 versions. Having a child is something we never even got to see the Golden Age versions do (minus some retroactive stuff with PG). So far so good for me on this title.

Taken me a while to get a hold of this but well worth the wait.

I did say earlier that I would have preferred they had their own earth but this concept avoids what could easily have become too "same old, same old" and it nicely provides a way into the new 52 universe for those of us who may not have been finding it a comfortable fit.

In a way, I'm quite surprised that DC has had the nerve to publish something that explicitly speaks to the dislike of the New 52 but good on them for doing it. I just hope the title lasts longer than 12 issues. There's nothing on the cover to suggest a limited run.
