Default Captain Marvel

Sorry see the Ms. Marvel thread but none for Carol's solo. Anyone else enjoying this ? I think both books are fun light hearted stuff right now which makes for a nice change up from all the gritty stuff I read. The Flerken/cat thing is just stupid and absurd but in a good way.

I tried the 1st issue but wasn't really grabbed by it. It felt an awful lot like the previous incarnation (by the same writer) that I'd already dropped once, with none of the hooks that had got me to read it in the first place.

How has it developed since the opening arc?

I like it better than the last volume I think but I didn't dislike that either. I'm more of a writing person but the art is def a lot better this volume and I'm finding the in space story more interesting than the Carol in NYC stuff.

I got bogged down in Carol in NYC (I think I dropped after the umptenth issue of Carol is going to die using her powers but can't stop using her powers).

While it wasn't the same situation in issue 1 it felt like it was headed in the same territory. Do you feel that's borne out at all (if you understand what I'm getting at)?

This volume is miles better than the last one.
She needed to be in space... now if only they'd give her some credible threats.

Her dealing with politics and alien cats is getting kind of sluggish.

i like this and Ms. Marvel but i'm at least a couple issues behind on both series.

Javier Pina is doing the art iirc...leaps and bounds better than Soy.
