Even in the desert, there are many animal species who spend a significant portion of their life cycle completely submerged in water.

So we know there's at least one faction of Atlantians who don't want anyone to find out how the place sunk. What could their motivation be? The hologram mentioned something about the King and Queen withholding the truth. Could these Atlantians be trying to preserve the reputation of the royal family?

I liked Aquaman #5. It feels like Geoff is just getting going and taking his time building up the storyline, which suits me fine. I think this issue we were supposed to feel closer to Arthur -- such as, his hallucinating with images of his father. I'm also enjoying the running gag that the public thinks Aquaman's a joke, especially when it's used subtly in the background. Once again, the art is super.

So when Aquaman's shirt gets destroyed, how does he get another one? Does he have a closet full of orange shirts?

Speaking of his costume, does anyone else think that the New 52 should have given him a new one? (Yes, I know he's got a new collar style, but c'mon, that's only a slight change)

Oh, I don't know, I like it, but he could alternate with the blue"Ocean Pacific" one he had in the old mini series.

I love it when a plan comes together in the Multiverse!

This was the first issue I didn't particularly enjoy. IMO it would have benefited from a greater visual distinction between the "now" and flashback scenes. It was hard to keep track of what was happening when - I think Aquaman losing his shirt was supposed to be a visual cue but I'm not sure they kept that straight. The menace is somewhat poorly-defined at this point as well.

Can't hit a homer every issue I guess.
