But how often lightning strikes twice ? I think DC is taking a risk with this new team, with lots of high profile books debuting at the same time, the book might be overlooked by casual readers.

From what I'm told, this creative team has now been confirmed.

This better be the greatest thing ever put on paper or I'm going to burn my Flash collection. And the DVDs.

Of course, like most people I will just have to wait and see. Right now it doesn't look like this will be in my pull box, but I will buy a copy of #1 if possible. I googled Ken Lashley and I can't say I would want the book based on his past art; however he may adapt his style or his style may be right for this book. It's possible but not probable IMO. As for the writers, well they should be able to pace a story properly, but again who knows how they will deal with the comic book format. All in all, unless the lead character is one I feel I must buy the book for, this is not looking good to me.

I know that Waid and Geoff feel that they've done all they can with Wally (maybe even the Flashes in general)

http://www.newsarama.com/dcnew/Flash/NewFlash.htm

Dan Didio confirmed the team a little while ago.

I have to say, in general I am saddened.

1) By the fact that it seems like Wally is definitely not under the mask one year later.
2) By the "big announcement". Granted, I will buy the book and give it a chance...I am not one to judge without reading, but...I was sort of hoping for a real "Wham! Bam!" kind of announcement for my favorite book.

I guess all we can do is wait and see.

One thing I do keep remembering though is oh so long ago when a new writer was announced for the Flash series...a lot of people were going "Geoff Johns? Who the heck is that?!?"

yes, but they weren't relaunching the series from scratch back then.

Bold and almost 100 % wrong prediction: Earth Prime Superboy becomes the new Flash!
Didio did say we will recognize the Costume!

“That was the fun part,” Didio said referring to his teases. “We said a lot of things in jest, and some things were misdirection, and some were true, and the best thing was to mix them all up together so nobody was sure which was which.”
ddf
The fun part for me will be watching this relaunch crash and burn. Ah, I keeed.

Didio said that, while his joking manner about the Flash’s fate in Infinite Crisis may have left some with the impression that his reverence toward the character was…less than what an Executive Editor’s should be
ddf
Yeah, no guff, Chet.

the Flash’s “death” in Infinite Crisis happened for a very clear reason.
ddf
Maybe. Who knows. I trust Geoff's instincts. Didio, not so much.

To me, it looks like Wally's kids will be the new Flash(es). The first new Flash will be Barry West, who will get killed or something, and then Iris West will take up the mantle. "New and exciting" direction generally means gender swapping the icon, anyway.

I'm excited about Bilson and De Meo being named at the new FLASH writers. I loved the TV series and am very happy for the duo. Also, Lashley's concept art along with the new logo look cool.

This book might come out and totally blow me away, but for now i'm not to impressed. I was hoping for a big name writer and artist (i was really hoping it was one of the Kuberts) on the title, but instead we get some guy's who worked on the old Flash tv show and an artist who's work i've seen hasn't really done much for me.

If you're gonna end a successful title's run and reboot it, well you should do it a little better than this.

I'm with you on that. I love what Bilson and De Meo did with the TV show but if it's not gonna Bart, Wally, or Barry you can count me out. Hell, even Jay would be acceptable too.

I really like the legacy aspect of the Flash, so I'll give it an issue or two. Five bucks won't break the bank, and if it's a new character, I'll be curious. Still...not looking good. Bart's the true heir to the legacy if they choose to go in that direction.

Hmm. I know this is going to sound weird, but the first thing I thought after reading that? Was that this Flash would be *all* Flashes, somehow.

It's not an idea I particularly like, as I want *more* Bart, not less of him, but still. That was my first thought.

Based on the art alone, I would totally buy the first issues....it's the best art I've seen of Flash next to Scott Kolins.
