Default Martian Manhunter!!

Written by A.J. Lieberman
Art and cover by Al Barrionuevo & Bit
Exploding from the pages of BRAVE NEW WORLD, Martian Manhunter stars in his first solo adventure in over five years! Written by A.J. Lieberman (Harley Quinn, BATMAN: Gotham Knights), who's reunited with the artistic team of Al Barrionuevo and Bit (BATMAN: Gotham Knights), this series will change the way you see the last son of Mars!
Since coming to Earth, J'onn J'onzz has strived to fit in with his adoptive people, even altering his appearance in order to not frighten Earthlings. And in that time, he has struggled between following the ways and customs of his people and becoming human.
But now everything he believed about his past has been shattered, and his tolerance for the failings of humanity is at an end. On a mission to seek the real facts about his past and his long-lost race, Martian Manhunter will stop at nothing to discover the truth about himself and the world he lives in!

I wasn't too sure about this one but the premise actually sounds really nice. Once again, it seems as if DC is pushing to move a longstanding character forward in their evolution. I'm intrigued to see how this develops and how J'onn chooses his new look. The cover bugs me a bit, but it's understandable. If DC marketing is smart about this (*snicker*), they won't show too much, if any, of J'onn's new look in preview pages and solicits, before the book comes out.

I wonder how much Ostrander's book this new series will pull from. That series got a bum rap. I really enjoyed it.Except when he tookm away all of J'onn's multiple ID's. That's the aspect that makes him unique in my eyes.

Here's to J'onn.
I hope this book is good and it lasts a long time.

I just hope this isn't another revamp of his origin. I don't want J'onn to become the next Donna Troy or Hawkman.

Did you write the top part yourself, or did you copy and paste it Warrior? Tsk tsk, as Lou always says, cite your source!

I was pretty worried about the fate of J'onn due to crisis, but thankfully, it looks like he's gonna pull out on top. I dont think that I have ever read anything by Lieberman, but I am very excited to see Barrionuevo on the art chores. He absolutely rocks!

J'onn's one of my favorite DC characters, so I'm looking forward to this. Barrionuevo is definitely a gain for this series. (I haven't read anything of Lieberman to 'judge' him, although I know they worked together on BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHTS).

I'll give this a shot, i haven't read anything by A.J. Lieberman before, but every time i see someone talking about him it's normally in a pretty negative light.

Interesting. I have never read anything by Lieberman. I have always liked J'onn and I'm glad to see that DC is spending time to further develop his character. I'll pick up this book.

Yeah, Dan, make sure you always indicate the source of the information.

(By the way, I'm getting weird reports on this thread. Are you people seriously instructing me to banish Dan because he didn't cite his source? Those are the messages I'm getting: "This thread should be deleted and thread starter should be officially warned." Get a grip, folks.)

I don't like Lieberman much, but I'm willing to give this a look. I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

Lieberman is the guy who wrote all those Hush stories and made Prometheus into an errand boy right? And weren't there a few rumours about him being a pen name for Chuck Austen? Which even if they aren't true, means that their writing styles are similar... As cool as J'onn is, I can easily pass on this

I'll give it a shot, but I'm not too sure that the flashy super-hro-y type of costume is truly necessary. Here's hoping it doesn't really suck....

Ill get it because its John Jones. though if it sucks Ill drop it.

Am I the only one who wants too see a return of the old John Jones look? like when he looked like a green lex luthor? that great gorilla look doesn't do anything for me.

No sale. It seems like every time J'onn gets a series, his origin is drastically re-written. I've never been a fan of "everything you know is wrong", and there's no one on the book to make me change my mind.

In fact, I'm going to make a prediction...

The death of the Martian race will somehow be the fault of humanity.
