Thumbs up Jeff Parker is kicking butt with this book!

So I just finished volume 5 (Parker's first volume), and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I love all the elements pertaining to Arthur balancing his life with the surface and in Atlantis. And I think Parker makes Atlantis seem vast, and I want to see so much more of it and its cultures.

And being mostly a DC dude (when it comes to superheroes), Paul Pelletier is a nice discovery for me.

What's the general consensus here about this run? Yea or nay?

Also loving it.

The history of Atlantis never really interested me before, but there's a nice mix of science and magic going on that's unique and has kept me interested.

Loving it, and of course with the new DC direction he won't be on it any longer.

Yeah, that's a shame. Not only that, he's not on any books at all so far. I'm hoping they give him a new book soon. Maybe a new Shazam book.

One other thing, I really liked Charles Soule's issue of Swamp Thing guest-starring Arthur. Particular, I liked Arthur's standoffish attitude towards Swamp Thing. "This is my turf", basically.

Now, I'm not versed in Aquaman history at all, so is that how he's normally seen by others? And is this well-received by fans?

I thought that was a big part of the post convergence world. Creative teams changing? Or did I misunderstand?

House ads in this weeks books indicate a renumbering as well...that's got to be a typo.

Having read #41, I gotta say I'm underwhelmed.
I really didn't like the artwork, and the story jump is kinda irritating as well.

It's looking more and more like Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis all over again and I will be dropping the book.

Which is a real shame as I thoroughly enjoyed the previous 40 issues.
