Default You Just Won the Lottery.......

What's the 1st big comic book you decide to Purchase?

PICK ONLY 1 because let's face it eventually I'd try to acquire all of them.....But what's the 1st one you purchase.

For me it's Amazing Fantasy 15

I wouldn't. Seriously. If I won big at the lottery I would love to buy a small comic book company/IP, and there are a couple i really like.

The new 52 - probably not for me...

Great question. Do you go for a big one with historical significance or just a personal favorite? Hmmm....

Think I'll go with Detective Comics #38. Growing up I was more partial to Robin because he was closer to my age. I also own the first appearances of all the other Robin's plus when Dick became Nightwing. I suppose I should have the original!

I would get a CGC 9.0 (at least) of Amazing Fantasy #15 since Spider-Man is my favorite superhero. I grew up reading a lot of Amazing Spider-Man and when they introduced Spectacular Spider-Man and Peter Parker, Spider-Man bought off grocery store spinner racks; kid heaven.

agreed..I would want this in at least VF or better condition.

Spiderman was top 3 for me with X-Men and Batman as a kid.

Detective Comics #31. Love that cover.

(The original, not the recent one!)

I would want to buy or create a comic company, too. If I was rich enough to be able to lose a little on the company and make up for it with investments, I'd do it just for the fun. I'd like to set it up so that I published creator owned stuff without the creators having to invest any money up front, and then pay them page rates above DC/Marvel levels, in addition to a base salary so they have steady checks, insurance, retirement, etc.

With some of my lottery money I would buy a comic shop....I would go crazy not working all day...I'd want to do something I can enjoy.

There was a place in Pittsburgh called Ides....It was a music store on the 1st floor and a comic shop on the lower floor.

I think I would want to open a store that is a record shop / comic shop.

Maybe More Fun #73 or the first Adventure to feature Starman, and S&K Sandman and Manhunter.

That's a nice choice. I've read it on the Digital Comics Database.

How big is the lottery? Because I'd rather buy a WHOLE LOT of Time Warner stock and promise the Chairman of the Board my proxy vote in everything if he gives me one ....little area of control.

I've found this question difficult to answer since I really don't have a lot of interest in the higher priced comics (what can I say, I like the obscure).

I guess I'll go with HIT COMICS #1; I'd like to own a complete run and #1 is probably going to be the priciest of the lot.
