Yep.

I was 7 and finally allowed to go to the local corner store by myself for the first time (I remember all of the older kids in my neighbourhood used to hangout there and everyone wants to be treated like the older kids when they're younger, I guess)

Sadly I don't. My Grandma threw so many of my comics out way back in the 60's. It was FF #1 to be exact.

There were some Disney and Harvey stuff, that I don't remember - but the first ones that I do were SB 191(election issue between Imra and Mon-el) and JLA #101 with the 7SoV (and it was quite a while till I got #100) And, although they are pretty ratty now, I still have both.

sadly, no. the first appearance of Hobgoblin in Amazing Spider-man. I bought that for myself off the spinner racks in grade school. read it; thrashed it over the yrs.

before that, older brother gave me short box containing DC and mostly Marvel comics. he no longer was into comics.

the amazing spider-man one was the first I ever bought for myself. Hobgoblin tearing spider-man's costume in half AND a tattoo included inside?! sweet!

First one I bought, I bought to read with the kids:

But here's the first one I bought for me:

Probably. I have a box of old dog-eared comics that I got when I was a kid but I don't remember which was first.

Yes, sort of.

My first comic was Brave and the Bold #153 from quite a way back. My original was lost a decade or so ago, so I scouted out a replacement which was nice to read once more (and in far better condition than my 6 year old self left that original copy).

The new 52 - probably not for me...

the earliest comic I have that I could have bought was the first appearance of Kon-El (Adventures of Superman #500), but i was real young at the time so I don't remember how I got it, but it wasn't as a back issue. I do still have it.

Sort of here too. My brother and I were bought a comic each back in 1963, I got Rawhide Kid #31 and he got Worlds Finest #135. Rawhide Kid was good (it was Lee and Kirby after all), but it was the Worlds Finest issue that got me, Superman and Batman (and Robin!) with an Aquaman back up strip. Wonderful, so that was me hooked.

The originals of both disintegrated years ago, but I bought a lovely replacement copy of the Worlds Finest, which is still in great condtion. Never bothered to get the Rawhide Kid issue again though, and it was only the last few days that I looked it up on Marvel Unlimited and could check exactly what issue it was, as from the covers alone I was wrong, but once I saw the interiors it all flooded back!
