Default Stan Lee sues... Stan Lee, Marvel

Stan Lee Media sues Stan the Man and the House of Ideas over movie profits and other proceeds.

Frankly, I don't think the case has merit, but then again, I'm not sure how much went into Stan Lee Media during the Dot Com Bubble.

shareholders of Stan Lee Media, Inc. on Monday filed suit against Lee, his wife, Marvel Comics, Marvel Chairman Issac Perlmutter, and former head of Marvel Studios Avi Arad for over $750 million – one half the proceeds from Spider-Man, X-Men and Iron Man.

Wait, what the hell does Stan Lee's wife got to do with any of this?

And I thought Stan Lee Media went belly up anyway, or started doing non-comic related stuff.

I'm no lawyer but I can't see them having much of a case. Seems to me like a company trying to get rich quick in tough times.

Oh I agree, or they're just trying to pull a FOX and get into the Mad Movie $$$'s.

But as ridiculous as the case is, at least everyone else listed as being sued is who would be involved. Stan Lee's wife I would think is an innocent bystander in this.

Seems unlikely than Stan would have had any interest in the Marvel characters in 1998 - and thus could not have transferred that interest to Stan Lee Media. Stan of course DID claim such an interest at one poit but that litigation was settled.

Without knowing any more details than are given by the article it sounds like an uphill climb for Stan Lee Media.

I sympathize fully with Stan, and will thus show my support by giving him half the proceeds from "Punisher: War Zone." Anybody got change for a five?

Stan is a defendant, not the plaintiff. It's his company, of which he is no longer a part, that brought the suit.

I think the proceeds from "Punisher: War Zone" would be in the negative, so if you were to give Stan half the proceeds, that would be negative money, so Stan would actually owe you money... which is actually not that bad of an idea really.
