Default Scott Kolins Omega Flight Interview

New Scott Kolins interview posted on AlphaFlight.net

Scott Kolins Interview

Id love to work up a ton of new versions of some classic ALPHA FLIGHT characters and make them more unique for our book. Time will tell which ones I get to work on. Ive had some thoughts on The Master and what Id like to do with him. The Great Beasts would be incredible to really work over. Wen-Di-Go would be awesome too.

And if people are interested in Omega Flight there is also a new interview with Mike Oeming

Michael Avon Oeming Interview

No, it has nothing to do with the lack of original characters. There is a hard core base for Flight, but not enough to sustain a book, where other people will see those same characters and "I never read them before, why would I read it now?" I have to admit, Marvel has relaunched some books where I felt the same way. I wont name names, but I look at it and thought "I never liked it before..." kind of like Mushrooms. I dont care how good they are made, I just dont like them and Im done trying them.

The book has to stand on its own merit, good stories, art and support from the company and fans. Its really that simple.

I can't wait!!! Always been a fan of Alpha Flight. Scott's rendition of Sasquatch is very similar to Byrne's. That's a good thing!

I really hope this books makes it to a regular series and I really hope that Marvel makes the decision before lose the most incredible artist for this title! I would love to see more of Scott's work on this title and the designs he has in store!

I think that maybe you were thinking of Firebird as Flamebird is a DC character. However, that is actually Talisman (Shaman's daughter), Spider-Woman, U.S. Agent, Beta Ray Bill, and the Guardian.

Yay for Talisman! Now get me BOX and I'll be happy. Or was Madison depowered 'cause of House of M? Last I saw he was in Weapon-X.

I just read the interview Mike did for Wizard. And saw the concept sketches Marc Silvestri drew. Nice to see Sasquatch survived the Alpha slaughter. Also the plans for him and Talisman sound good.
As for the sketches, the only thing I wasn't happy with was Talisman's costume. Way too much skin showing. I mean it's Canada for cripes sake. It's -12 degrees celcius here right now, she'd catch her death. Plus, it doesn't seem like her style.

That Silvestri art is for a story in Civil War: The Initiative - not conept art. It's a lead in story to Omega Flight #1.

I much prefer the "civvies" sketch I saw. Nicely practical, and the jacket evoked her father's battle dress uniform as well. Perfect for a fight wardrobe.
