Default Convergence -

89 comics over a two - month period bringing back most of the multiverse worlds that everyone has been clamoring for since the start of the Nu-52 (Original Earth 1, 2, 3, S, X) . Let the speculations commence!

Without knowing much of anything - I'm pretty excited for it.

I'm hoping it's kind of a mix between Multiversity and those "Blackest Night" one-shots - give a creator who's tied in closely with the character a chance to do a fun two-issue storyline.

Just please don't make it a Countdown Arena rehash - Marvel comics already has a stranglehold on the "HERO VS HERO - SHADES OF GRAY!!!" storyline and has run it into the ground.

I do not know how I feel about this one.
DC has really been turning me off lately (I have been buying comics since 1977 and the majority has always been DC). I was telling the person at my LCBS that I do not even have any interest in the new Secret Origins series which probably does fill in a lot of the NU52 holes. I am not buying Future's End at all and I was one of those comic geeks that if DC was doing a crossover mini-maxi series I was definitely buying it.
I know I will not be buying all 89 issues but maybe if there is a one or two parter about Donna Troy or the original Justice Society I might pick those up. I do have to say that it does seem that there is quite a bit of planning around Convergence which can be a good thing.

Am I the only one bugged by seeing Plastic Man with the Freedom Fighters since Plas was dead on Earth-X?

No? Just me then?

I just hope this doesn't end with character slaughter. Let these characters exist in a Multiverse somewhere. Please. The large-scale character deaths are just offensive and clichéd at this point.

Yes, it would be the worst ending to this. I get that the Nu 52 is not going away, but there's no reason to have a wholesale slaughter of all these characters. Hopefully, they will be left to reside in the Multiverse and we will get check ins periodically at least. I seriously doubt that any of them will earn their own series. There is always hope though...

I wouldn't even mind a merging of the universes. But really? I'd prefer the Multiverse. Put some legacies on a world of their own and give them the Earth-2 treatment.

I don't think at this stage they will go for a slaughter-fest, more an old fashioned hero v hero scrap before they all realise their mistake/wake from their villain induced madness etc and all unite to turn on the villain.

If Jurgens is involved that will be the plot. It always is...

Hmm.
-Stephanie Brown & Cassandra Cain.
-Wally with his kids.
-Ryan Choi not dead and Ray Palmer in costume.
-Clark & Lois together.
-Roy Harper revisited, most likely getting some "clean up" following the unsavory events of his rat-eating mini.

These are just a few of the things that make me think someone said, "Let's give people exactly what they've been saying they wanted."

If nothing else it may give these characters a more satisfying exit into "other world" oblivion than their abrupt vanishing act before Flashpoint.

Speaking of which...
Pre-FP DCU vs. FP DCU seems to be a pretty consistent theme so far. The same crowd that wants the things above may also find some satisfaction in seeing the FP versions getting defeated by the pre-FP heroes.

For me personally it's "too little, too late" as I've moved on from the DCU and, for the most part, mainstream superhero comics in general, but still I'll be hard-pressed to pass on a lot of this stuff.

Fortunately I can wait around 4 months and dig any of this that sounds interesting enough out of $1 bins.

I. Am. Getting. Speedforce.

Also, the Dick and Babs Story and the one with Donna Troy.

I hope these Convergence stories sell like gangbusters.

I may have to go back to getting paper comics for these issues!
