Default Writers you would've liked to see for the DC relaunch.

Okay, while I'm down with a lot of stuff we're seeing from DC...there are a few..questionable choices, and a lot of artists that are suddenly pulling double duty for books.

Meanwhile, Marc Andreyko, Kurt Busiek, Mark Waid, Greg Rucka, Phil Jimenez, and Darwyn Cooke are all MIA for this epic relaunch. To be honest, I think DC could've gotten a LOT of support from fans with A-List talent announced on their books. I can't be alone in this, so here's me posing the question:

What writer would you have wanted to see for the DC relaunch?

Nick Spenser is clearly the one that got away.

Dammit DC.

Honestly, I'd like to have seen Palmiotti and Gray on something. I think they could have kicked ass on any number of projects. Hawk and Dove comes to mind.

I've got the pistols so I'll keep the pesos. That seems fair.

Palmiotti and Gray on a Terra series

Geoff Johns or P&G on Power Girl

Adam Warren on Teen Titans and Bryan Lee O'Malley on Young Justice (or BKV on either title).

Brandon Choi on WildCATS

Roger Stern
Tom Peyer
James Robinson
Marc Guggenheim
John Byrne
Jimmy Palmiotti
Justin Gray
Matt Sturges
Bill Willingham

And some creators didn't make the jump
Chris Roberson, Brian Clevinger, and Brian Wood

As for Darwyn Cooke? Looks like he has something coming up for DC.

I'd like my favorite vertigo writers doing something, Mike Carey and Brian Wood.
Carey is great on Xmen, his Age of X story that just finished was awesome so I think he'd be good on Titans or YJ. He's also got experience telling compelling stories with all powerful christion based leads so give him The Spector.
Wood does great personal stories but alao has a knack for political stories ao he'd be perfect for a new Checkmate.

Obviously any writer I like who's not included would have been nice. But just limiting it to folks who were writing for DC immediately pre-boot:

Bryan Miller
Chris Roberson
David Hine
Brian Wood

I'm kind of baffled that DC didn't offer Miller a book given the generally positive reception his Batgirl seems to have gotten.

Also I wish Sterling Gates was on something that won't make my eyes bleed. Maybe he has another title coming.

super-bummed that Roberson didn't get an invite to the party.

Brian Wood woulda been a huge asset, no doubt. i mean, c'mon, S____ L______?

Andreyko, Carey, Hine, Liss, Spencer, Robinson...we'll have to see.

some of the choices for the relaunch are so tone-deaf tho....

Yeah, Miller is a big surprise. Although we still haven't seen all the books coming out, so who knows?

Darwyn Cooke, John Byrne and Alex Ross. I still have hope that Cooke's Vigilante will see the light of day.
