Default Oh Well....

Not great news for some fans:

SPOILER. Highlight below text to read
Looks like JSA All-Stars and Freedom Fighters are both getting the axe to make way for Flashpoint books.

More money I save, I guess. Wonder what's going to happen with the characters?

Default Not A Joke

I couldn't believe this when I first read it, but sure enough the May solicits on CBR, Newsarama and Comics Continuum all say the same thing (and add Doom Patrol to the list). Could this possibly be stunt ala "Age of Apocalypse" where the titles get replaced by their Flashpoint counterparts? I mean why these titles and not Titans?

What? That makes no sense to me. Hopefully it will just be a temporary thing, although I'm pretty miffed that Flashpoint would interfere with my regular comic reading that much. I really hate when events affect books that they really shouldn't.

Well, I've already dropped both JSA titles and Flash, so I'll be saving a boatload of money this year.

That's a shame about the Doom Patrol, though.

As I keep saying, thank God for Legion of Superheroes, a title that actually gets better with each passing issue.

Yeahs something is a little fishy about Freedom Fighters being canceled in only 9 issues. Not even a year.

Did anyone think Freedom Fighters had a chance given its previous record of cancellations going back to the 70's? Even I didn't buy it and I get almost everything.

What can I say, I'm an optimist.

The minis from a few years back were actually incredibly good (and Freedom Fighters wasn't an awful seller in the 70s either).

But I'll say even as a strong fan of the series starting with a long epic opening arc has been a bit rough (and sadly it doesn't look like we'll get much beyond that story...should have just been another mini at this point).

It was cancelled once in the 70's, so ... . for us who enjoyed Jimmy's and Justin's take - it was a great ride - perhaps worry less about publishing history and more about quality and so many good books wouldn't get the shaft.

I am MEGA p!$$ed that All-Stars is cancelled and if they don't reboot post-Flashpoint I will be stunned. The cast was amazing and the writing is terrific. I love all the members and I don't think there is room for them in the main JSA book... I know the Legion is huge, but they have two books (Lu, Blok, Black Witch etc appear there too) and several specials to touch upon their universe.

I want monthly Cyclone and Star. I want more Al, Nate, Sandy. I want extra Tommy.... Dammit DC!

Yeah Freedom Fighter has been a great read, but never a good idea to start a book with a lower tier of characters with the extended arc (though the idea of the secret weapon was pretty cool but that got a bit lost out the gate with the Renegades issues). Hope the team lives on in some more mini's or something).
Sad to see All-Stars go, especially with a huge chunk of my fav JSA characters on the team, hopefully they will come together in the main title.

Freedom Fighters and doom patrol should be put into one book. I liked both and hate to lose them.

I liked All Stars better than the regular title and am really sorry to see it go. Hopefully these characters wont be tossed aside and will show up somewhere else soon.
