Smile Who will play the Black Panther?

From io9.com:
Djimon Hounsou still wants to be your live-action Black Panther

I didn't know if there was a third FF movie he was going to play T'Challa. In fact, I don't see why T'Challa can't be in the Avengers movie.

I guess it would depend on who has which options; is Black Panther tied up in a similar way to FF, or even as part of that deal. If so that may limit usage.

I would think that since The Black Panther appeared in the Disney XD Avengers cartoon, that Disney/Marvel would have the rights.

Live action and cartoon rights are rarely sold together. And if he truly had been under consideration to play Black Panther in another FF movie, then one would have to assume the character was for some reason part of the FF live action rights.

I think it actually aired....kind of.

In Australia.

Seriously.

Supposedly, on the PS3 network, the XBox Network and ITunes, you can look for "Black Panther: Who is the Black Panther?" and find it, but I've never seen it.

If done right, The Black Panther can be a major player in the Marvel movie franchise.

I'm looking forward to this.

I'm only interested if they adapt the crazy Kirby stuff.

Or maybe the devil's pants scenario.

If this is a comics to film translation of the Black Panther on a par with the Marvel studios slate, then I am very excited, especially if the film is slotted into the cinematic universe.

I still wonder how likely this is, given the work that Edgar Wright appears to have put into Ant Man already? The Latino Review poster says he has four trusted sources on this, but of course what constitutes a trusted source is not defined.

That said, I think Marvel have a number of solo properties not yet developed that could really work as part of the mosaic, such as Dr. Strange, Iron Fist (watching Star Trek again last night made me think Chris Pine could be great in that role), Luke Cage and Ms. Marvel.

I would love those Disney-Marvel denials to be smoke and mirrors.

I can't really remember Anthony Mackie from 8 Mile, and haven't seen his other work, but he has an eclectic range of movies behind him which could be a good sign.

I certainly hope that he would be part of the same film universe as the Avengers. Otherwise it would be difficult to get him on the team roster.

Honestly, it would be awesome enough just to have an end-of-credits scene where Sam Jackson invites Panther into the Avengers and says, "Finally! I'm not the only black person in this organization anymore."
