Default Who are your favorite comics writers?

Mine:

Grant Morrison - his JLA run got me back into comics
Jeph Loeb - my favorite Superman writer
Geoff Johns - he's like King Midas as I was told, everything that he touches, turns to gold (50 cool points to anyone who knows where I got that line)
Gail Simone - everthing she's written that I've read, I've loved
Kurt Busiek - like Morrison, his Avengers brought me back into comics
Mark Waid - Kingdom Come, baby

Mark Waid - The man understands story (and he made Wally a hero again)
Marv Wolfman - I'm starting to forgive him for killing Barry
Barbara Kesel - So you CAN build a fantasy world with wide appeal
Geoff Johns - Inside the minds of the villains

Those are the ones off the top of my head that have made me stop cold and just say 'wow'

Come on, don't tell me I'm the first guy to say Robert Kirkman! He's proven that you don't have to be at one of the Big Two to tell an awesome superhero story or an awesome zombie tale.

Geoff Johns, Gail Simone, Greg Rucka, Grant Morrison, Phil Hester, Boyd & Yount, Benito Cereno, and Peter David are some other favorites.
