Plus the last three Flashes had a first name that ended in a Y. Jay, Barry, Wally. Just saying.

That would be one way to bring "Barry" back. I can see it now.

That would be like Hitler saying that he only wanted peace. When what he actually meant was a "Piece" of France, a "Piece" of Poland, a "Piece" of Hungary....

NOT the same thing.

There's a Flash section here? Where is it? ;-)

Please don't give them anymore bad ideas like that...heh...they'll probably use them just to torture us Barry Allen fans further.

Though isn't Bart's first name Bartholomew like Barry Allen's was? Augghhh now I'm doing it too.

See what you've started now...

Still amped to see what form that idea Bilson had about someone needing to go back to the future might take? It'll be an awesome story.

Please bring Wally and his family back. I don't want him back to replace Bart, mind you. But finally become the mentor to Bart that he should have been from the beginning.
Plus, I would like to have Wally get a new costume and name...I don't think having 3 Flashes running around would be good. So Wally get all "ION'd" up and rejoin the League as it resident speedster.

Interesting question just popped up in the previous thread.

Where is Zoom in all of this? Was he killed in the Crisis? With no Flash for the past year, did he retire or something?

Yes...now. Bart's full first name is Bartholomew. As for Barry, his name was originally said to be short for Barrence. (I think they used the name once or twice, when Barry's parents were visiting.) DC later retconned it to Bartholomew in the first Flash Secret Files book, presumably so that they could say that Bart had been named after him.

Maybe "Barrence" was just a cute nickname that his parents referred to him by.

I'm pretty sure Barry is a stand alone name. I don't think it's short for anything. I know it sounds like a nickname, but I'm pretty sure it's not. I did a little but of searching and I didn't find anything saying it was short for anything else. But then, Bartholomew makes sense...

I'm probably wrong and sound real dumb right now... but is Barry Manilow's full name Bartholomew? Nope. So I think it can stand alone.

Dexter Miles, the Flash Museum curator, used to call Barry by the Barrence moniker - I always took that as a joke.

This is the best website for any and all information related to the Flash!

http://www.hyperborea.org/flash/barry.html

That shows the Real Name: Bartholomew[1] Henry “Barry” Allen.
[1] During the Silver Age, Barry’s full first name was given as Barrence. The Flash Secret Files #1 (1997) gives it as Bartholomew. This was three years after Bart Allen’s debut and the same year as The Life Story of the Flash.

The irony here is astounding...the site you just quoted is Kelson's.

Which is an essential website for anyone who wants to know anything about the Flashes.

And is why when Kelson posts something he always knows what he's talking about..

I wasn't questioning whether his name was Bartholemew or not. I was just saying, in a general sense, that Barry is normally a stand alone name and not a nickname for anything. I think people name their kids Barry So and So.

Somebody just pointed this out on Millarworld:

mac·ro·bi·ot·ics
n. (used with a sing. verb)
The theory or practice of promoting well-being and longevity, principally by means of a diet consisting chiefly of whole grains and beans.

So what Tina's saying, essentially, is that the Speed Force amounts to a hill of beans?

As promised, tapping out.
