i have a feeling, that Shilo didn't return to his own earth after being pulled into that black hole. I have no idea where this is going or how it ties in with the shida folk, but the ending was brutal....

After seeing what they did with those bolt cutters, i'm almost afraid to find out what that one guy did with the drill he was holding...

It occurrs to me that we are SUPPOSED to be disturbed by issue #3. Probably to make his victory in issue #4 all the sweeter.

I thought they did all of that so that he would have to die, to "escape" death, or something like that.
You know, the World's Greatest Escape Artist will have to escape death somehow. I'm sure Morrison will make it awesome.
Maybe Shilo will end up in a new body or something?

I was thinking the exact opposite. Life has become the Trap and Death is the Escape from it. Shilo is trapped inside his own broken and useless body and the only way out is to die. Mister Miracle isn't going to escape from death, he's going to escape from life. Do you think the mini could end in some form of pseudo-heroic suicide?

Check out the solicitation for issue #4:

http://www.dccomics.com/comics/?cm=4985

The cover image is certainly ominous...

"The Life Trap is here and the only way out is in a box"? Box = Coffin?

Does "The Final Escape" mean that Mister Miracle is going to shed his mortal coil and become ....something else?

Ugh, that last issue was brutal. And I mean strictly by the brutality factor! I could have gone without the bolt-cutters

Well, that was certainly unexpected! I'm not much into uh, that kinda pain but it was a measure you don't see in comics everyday.

I'm betting Shilo is the one who buys it, I wouldn't want to continue in that state... I'm hearing that Cyborg is considering helping out with an arm prothesis for Risk. maybe he could do something for Shilo... Welcome to the new happy DCU.

Further up and further in!

As of issue 3 it's my favorite 7S series; then again, Frank #3 hasn't hit yet...

Wow, well apart from the lack of continuity with artsist (Is it so hard to get one guy to do a 4 issue series?), I thought the ending of issue 3 went way over the line for a non-MR book.

You saw him get severly beaten with baseball bats, they use a power drill on him (Not shown but suggested in the knees) set on fire, and they cut off Lil' Shilo. WTF? Very very surprised DC let this one thru.

Nah, I think 'coffin' is what DC want us to think. The answer lies with Motherbox. Or, it's a play on words and means both.

He can escape a black hole but not the trunk of a checy? World's Greatest Escape Artist my ear!

Three issues and still no relevence what-so-ever to the rest of the series. Oh well, at least the other minis are good. Heres hoping Shilo is the soldier to bite the dust.

and where is scott free in all of this? i seem to recall that the initial solicit mentioned something about scott and oberen as a religious cult or something.

so far, we've seen mostly new incarnations of the new gods (black racer, lightray, dark side [ugh], baron bedlam, dessad, and others). it seems like scott is the only one we haven't seen.

For some reason this series reminds me of the 'spawn' series with good and evil waging war on each other through human hosts on earth. I did hear somewhere that Morrisson was interested bringing the 'god' aspect of the new gods back into play. One issue to go I am hopeful but keep picturing this as more of a Vertigo book.

Bolt Cutter Scene: Still cringing from that. REVENGE is def called for.
