This was my least favourite issue of Will Pfeiffer's run. Partly it was the feeling of anti-climax. It was fairly obvious what Zatanna would tell her, but the details were left so sketchy. I quite like the idea of the 'reveal' (as long as we don't think too hard about the timing) but the execution of it in the writing didn't work for me. In fact, whenever the story moved away from that part of the plot, it felt like the normal book. I can't quite put my finger on it. It just felt so fuzzy and non-specific.

Hopefully this will have an interesting follow through, so for me it's just a blip in an otherwise very entertaining run.
Repeat after me:
There's no such word as 'VILLIAN'.

If her reform was artificial, then she has to suspect that her feelings for Batman might be as well.
Wonder if perhaps the whole Bruce-Selina thing is comming to a cul-de-sac?

I'm inclined to believe that there is more to this story than meets the eye.
So do I. Although I'm disappointed by the revelations in this issue I don't think we're told the whole story.
English is not my native language.

I finally read #50, and here are my thoughts:

Obviously, I think the idea to have Selina's transformation happen because of magic is really lame. I'm not a big Brubaker fan, but I did enjoy how she choose to be a hero and went for it. So undoing all that with magic is a little dumb.

As to where this fits in in continuity, here's how I see it:

Catwoman adopted her purple catsuit in Year Two. Now I'm not exactly sure when the Satellite Era was active in the current 12-year timeline, but if it was after Year Two, it's possible. Catwoman's adventures in her first series didn't begin until around Year 8 or 9, or whichever year Knightfall falls in. So this mindwipe could have happened before her in-continuity stories began.

As for her other costumes, I believe these are purposeful Crisis time anamolies that will be resolved within the pages of Infinite Crisis and Infinite Crisis Secret Files. During Zero Hour, Selina saw mirror images of herself in her purple dress, her Year One grey outfit, her 70s black leather outfit, and an Elseworlds costume. So I think these costumes appeared in her closet thanks to Crisis.

Here's hoping this is all resolved by April.
