Impossible to imagine there is a market for this. Even with a high profile writer, it would be a hard sell. With Jurgens, it will be the latest in a series of competent but bland comics that survive a year before cancellation.

Which is a shame since the Others were pretty interesting. Even if the one I liked most, Vostok, was killed off.

I thought the original buzz around this was that if the Aquaman Annual (featuring the Others) sold well, then John Ostrander was going to write it. Wonder what happened with that?

I think it's great that Aquaman will get a 2nd ongoing, when has that ever happened? Still, there are some omissions I'd see selling better before this...
-Shazam ongoing
-Doom Patrol
-A companion Earth 2 title
(JSA centric)

Nevertheless, I'll still give Aquaman and the Others a shot.

First issue was incredibly weak. Mediocre storytelling in terms of both writing and art. Jurgens' run back in the 90's on the tail end of PAD's run was stronger than this. Immediately dropped.

And this is what I was afraid of. Jurgens hasn't produced anything up to current standards in so long I have no point of reference. Not to be rude, but he's a much better artist than he is a writer.

That's a shame. I really did enjoy his Aquaman run. But, I have found most of his work since to be on the dull side.

I didn't think it was bad. I find the group of characters intriguing. There's a mystery at the heart of the artifacts that relates to Aquaman/Atlantis. I willing to stick around to see what that is.

I think the fact that Aquaman actually has a second title is great. I'll stick around for a while.

I love it when a plan comes together in the Multiverse!
