Hate the outfit, don't mind the new character.

Although it may have been a mistake to introduce a new Sargon the Sorceror and a new Ibis at the same time.... does DiDio hate characters with turbans?

I'm sure Dan Didio and Greg Rucka have both said that 9/11 didn't happen in the DCU.

They did? I guess Tad Williams didn't get the memo, that or it occured in this New Earth.

It's an interesting start, though i'll be honest I wasn't all that impressed... this went from a book I wasnt buying to a book I'll flip through at the LCS.

I'll check this out, however I do prefer the classic costume. Though I understand wanting to change it.

Wonder if he'll eventually join one of the Justice teams.

Hmmm, interesting - the coloring on the cover for the costume is much more in line with what I'd originally hoped for when I seen the B&W picture with the open shirted top and all. If the interior costume is matched to that (the early preview looked very superhero-y), then I'm okay with the costume.

Now, THAT's a preview.

SPOILER. Highlight below text to read
Looks like their putting Prince Amentep on ice not necessarily dispensing with him completely. Also the new Ibis is a kid?? Shades of Captain Marvel!!! But I sort of like the idea.

Why did Tad Williams do some other racist thing in one of his comic books?

Grem-I had to stop reading his mini-series because it just left such a bad taste in my mouth...

The teen who appears to be picked to take the Ibistick is shown being beat up by a different group of teens who have (besides picking on him) taken to calling him Osama in light of 9/11

Yeah the new costume stinks, thought they would have tried at least a bit to get it right, why not give him a more modern look? I mean the 'old' ibis used to wear a suit (granted he also wore a turban but they weren't so 'enlightened' back then ; ) ) . The new costume is a mess, a kinda pseudo - ancient egyptian look that just doesn't work and just re-inforces streotypes ...why? Couldn't they have just given the kid a streetwise look? Bit like Jakeem Thunder in JSA but he also happens to carry the ibis stick around or it appears when he needs it...just pathetic...

In the book, the new Ibis look basically acts as a secret identity for Danny. Given that Thoth creates the costume for him, and given that it IS recolored from the initial preview that made it look like a blue spandex costume, I think it works.

What, specifically, is wrong with it?

While I might with the pants to be one color, I'm not sure what the major problem is...?

Personally, I think it lacks elegance. But it's no big deal.

SUPER HERO COSTUME FOR DUMMIES

Important Tip:

NEVER let an ancient baboon god design your costume!

I thought it was okay. A few tweaks and it'll be perfect.
