Default Marts goes back to Marvel

It was expected that he wasn't going to be one of those buying his Hawaiian shirts before hitting the pacific beaches, but its sad to see him go. He was THE DC Editor whose books you could pick out by the quality of them. I think the current Batman line is as good as it has ever been and as the man who puts the talent together he must have had a large amount of the input on that.

He will certainly be missed. BIG opportunity for someone at DC though. Their biggest franchise. Will they promote from in-house or get someone in?

Big year for Batman too, with the new weekly book and the struggle to remain the best selling regular monthly title.

I have never, through all the various threads throughout the years, jumped onto any of the 'Bash Liefeld' trains, but just say congratulations to the guy without making it all about your personal feuds. Geez.

Yup, I noticed that. Stay klassy, Rob.

Wouldn't they hire an editor out in California? Or promote someone from within who'll definitely be making the move west? If it's the former, I expect the power base among DC's brain trust to shift.
On a long, extended break from massive comic-book events.

Big loss for the Bats. And I wonder how you fill the slot if you need someone to live in NYC for a year and then move out west? I wonder if they would consider hiring an LA-based editor if someone really good was available.

Big win for Marvel. Big loss for DC.

Interesting to see who fills the slot since DC has chased away some top notch editors in past several years.
