Default DC To Titans Fans: Drop Dead

The Titans slide brought questions about the change from artist Ian Churchill to Joe Benitez in the second issue. DiDio- “Unfortunately Ian hurt his hand, and is recovering, so Joe Benitez will take over the art for the foreseeable future.

Great, just great. Take one of the best properties DC has and treat it like dirt. With that announcement, I'm officially dropping Titans. I can take mediocre writing for a couple issues to see if a writer can find his or her legs, but I can't take insultingly bad "art." What a shame too. Titans could have been huge.

What are you talking about DC isn't treating the JSA like dirt

I think you might be overreacting just a little.

I am fan of Joe's, I think he does great work but I was still a little put off by some of his work in the issue. But Joe was put on to the title pretty quickly since Ian hurt his hand. And someone did mention that Joe has said he is becoming more comfortable with the characters.

Only a little? Come on. Its not like they went and got Damian Scott or the guy who did the Mr. Horrific arc of JSA Classified. The title alone is ridiculous. If you want to drop the book, fine, but don't pretend like this is the greatest tragedy done to the Titans since conception or something.

Default Titans Art

Hey, at least it's not the toddler who scribbles the "art" in RAVEN.

Besides, issue #5 is drawn by Rodney Buchemi, who's probably the best comic book artist alive (though some will argue that point with me). Check out his gallery on deviantart... it's at http://buchemi.deviantart.com/gallery/

and here's one of my favorites:

Yeah. If someone wanted to have this reaction, it should have been when Winnick was announced as writer.

But seriously. Sorry. (I did laugh for a minute, and then felt bad. So I'm not an entirely evil person.)

Ugh, I really do hope Benitez's getting better as he goes, cause he's pretty terrible.

Having met Dan Didio in person, and understanding fully the kind of person he really is, it would not surprise me in the least if he actually said that. :-(

Oh, and good point about Pérez. Perhaps I should rephrase that Buchemi is among the greatest artists alive. George is, of course, THE greatest.

All the accounts that I've ever heard about the guy, and the interviews I've seen and read, have given me the impression that he's a good guy. You'd actually be the first to say otherwise.
