Default Is Geoff's Teen Titans run a good start?

Hi,

I am thinking of buying Teen Titans #1-39 (more are not available at that source right now), because I enjoyed most of Geoff's writing lately. But I am not that much into Teen Titans. All I read about it it is a bit soapy between the adventures and I think that might be interesting.
And I am hoping for a great character development as I am used to from Geoff.

Any advice?
Uhoh, price is about $45 including annual and Teen Titans/ Legions special.

Cheers and thanks in advance!

It is definitely a great place to start and one of the most exciting runs around! The art work for those issues is top notch as well, so in my opinion, you can't go wrong.

I'll go and agree. This Teen Titans volume was great and those issues were some of the best.

Start and stop there. After his run ends there's a mess of issues with tie-ins etc.

I think it's quite good up until around #33 or so. It helps to have read some of the classic Wolfman/ Perez stories, though you can probably get by without having done so.

You may also wish to check out the TT/ Legion Special, which continues from TT #16, Outsiders # 24-25, which are part of a crossover with TT # 24-25, and TT Annual #1, which has some stuff important to Superboy's character arc.

Cool the annual is in that box already. So I just need to get Outsiders #24-25.

Yes, for the love of god, stop talking to us and buy those issues now! After Impulse, Young Justice and Superboy got cancelled, I stopped with comics until I picked up Teen Titans #7, got all the back issues after that and turned into a total DC Zombie because of that run on Teen Titans. I had never read the wolfman/Perez stuff before reading this series and I understood it just fine, so that shouldn't even be an issue.

Yes, his run on teen titans was great. I wasn't a big titan fan before hand but that first run got me hooked. Along with everyone else... I can't recommend it enough.

His run was enjoyable up until the OYL jump. After that, it was still good, but the fallout and damage from Infinite Crisis took its toll.

Good choice!

Geoff's run on Titans is what brought me back to comics after a long absence. I was into the Wolfman/Perez run, as well as the Superboy/Robin/Impulse comics. So it just fit perfectly for me. The characters were really done justice in Geoff's Teen Titans...enjoy!

I'll just chime in here that you made the right decision to buy this run, and it sounds like you got a good deal on it. This run is what made me a Geoff Johns fan. Right from the very first arc things are pretty awesome.

Those are some of the first comics I ever read. They're a great start!

Thanks for support. I am really looking forward to get my hands on the books now (bought them at ebay).
I hope to get more into Connor Kent by these books, too. I have to admit that I did not know too much about him yet.
