Brian Thomer reminded me, I've always wanted to see Geoff write more Blue Devil and Faust. Day of Judgement and that weird JLA Black Baptism storyline gave me high hopes that we'd get a Blue Devil/Faust Occult Detectives miniseries. I'm glad we've gotten more Blue Devil the last few years (although his portrayal seems to change regularly), I'm sad we haven't seen more Faust. I loved what we got to see in Checkmate with the character, but nothing since.

It has been awhile since I have read this, but I seem to remember liking it more than the previous weekly crossover events.

Same here. I am trying to find my copies of the series so I can loan them to a friend of mine.

I really like the Atom/Firestorm team Geoff set up. Too bad nobody ran with it (unless you count GL: Circle of Fire).

As for the Spectre idea - it was from a fan in an AOL chat room, i know - i was there! DC gave him credit too for the idea. So, yeah - i think DoJ was work for hire.

Speaking of Faust he'll be in a story in the DCU Halloween Special.

I really enjoyed this mini, but damn the artwork is SO average!

As mentioned before, poor man's Mignola.

It was a shame too, as there were some GREAT moments that could've been even better with more eyecatching artwork.

The Faust regaining and losing his soul scenes spring to mind....

Why not just get the individual issues? They're not hard to come by and can get for less than cover price.

A quick look at eBay turns up not only multiple copies of all the issues, but whole sets for sale of the mini too.

I might just get the issues. A Day of Judgement TPB would go nice with my other Hal Jordan TPB's like Emerald Twilight (where he becomes Parallax), Zero Hour (where he tries to destroy the universe as Parallax), Final Night (where he sacrifices himself to save the universe), and Rebirth (when he comes back). Day Of Judgement would go between Final Night and Rebirth!

There's an issue of JLA that makes a great coda for DoJ too.

I didn't realize he wrote Hal Jordon prior to GL: Rebirth. That's pretty sweet.

Could use the Batman: Day of Judgement issue as the opening act as well to bring UP the page count (maybe even GL #118)...and JLA #35 and GL #119 as epilogue...

This was fun in the old days of the DCMB when we had quite the coverage of this event....(and edus popped up as one of the characters, trying to get a date with Zatanna....)

I personally, loved Hal as the Spectre and that run. DOJ had one of my favorite Hal moments as far as showing his character, when he declined becoming the Spectre saying he didn't deserve the power and the reward that it represented, thus making The Spectre see that Hal truly was worthy. Geoff was solid even back then.
