HERE is CBR's story on the casting. Check this part out:

The 27-year-old actress will play corporate executive Diana Themyscira, who fights crime in Los Angeles as Wonder Woman while maintaining a third, secret identity as Diana Prince.

I can't see the show appealing to 'geek nation'.

I assume the people behind WW understand their target audience and it's not going to be the male 'geek' demographic (18-40 yr).

The target will be audiences that watch American Idol, Desperate Housewives, Glee, Grey's Anatomy, etc.

I don't think the actress will be the problem in this. Sounds to me that the writing/direction could be more problematic. Wait & see I guess. We'll all be tuning in the 1st episode anyway regardless & we can judge then.

Some script details from Bleeding Cool (doesn't sound good):

I am a big fan of having Steve Trevor as Diana's romantic interest, but "pining" for him? No freakin' way.

Overall, there may be an entertaining new superheroine in this waiting to pop out, but she probably needs to get her own name, and not try to pass herself off as Wonder Woman.

The actress looks good for Diana, though.

From CBR's Spinoff Online: Elizabeth Hurley Will Play Villain In David E. Kelley’s Wonder Woman

IMO, she'd make a great Veronica Cale! And considering that DC at one point thought about killing off Cale in the comic this makes things even better.

hurley is smoking hot! so far we got a hot lead and now a hot villain.

i remember as a kid being totally in love with lynda carter: about 6 yrs old, kissing the television screen, literally, with lynda onscreen.

It's like it came off the set of a latex fetish film.

I'm a huge fan of Diana's new look in the comics, but that looks absolutely awful. Why is it so shiny? Why are the pants bright blue? Why is there so much PIPING everywhere? No offense to the actress, but the outfit and the makeup make this look it's from one of those adult-film superhero parodies.

I really hate to judge something before I see it, but the more and more I see and read concerning this show, the more and more I think it's just ill-conceived and absolutely doomed to failure.

i'm ok with pants. not totally sold on this costume.

i find the actress beautiful, but this pic with its combination of costume, hair, & makeup seems to dial it down, way down.
