One of the most solid, intriguing episodes ever. Loved the JSA, the mystery, Martian Manhunter, the story development over simplistic battles & fight scenes. While I think the end battle was too rushed, I'm glad it wasn't the token Smallville battles we've been forced to see.

Checkmate indeed!

I can't swear to it, but I thought Alex Ross did the JSA portrait.

Overall, I was happy with the episode. I knew Geoff would do his best and give the JSA a good story.

I haven't really been following Smallville all that much the last couple of seasons, but has Radu's been shown before?

That was absolutely fantastic. I pretty much loved everything about the episode, and it's definitely the best episode of the season. JSA. Checkmate. Suicide Squad. Super Friends. Radu's Internet Cafe (I just loved that cameo at the beginning )

I pretty much guessed that Fate was going to restore J'onns powers when they were teamed up.

The one minor complaint I had was Waller's voice. It just didn't seem right, but I suppose I'm used to the JLU voice.

I thought it was a fun episode. Very superhero comic booky in many ways.

I actually liked the reveal with Checkmate. I haven't watched Smallville regularly but I might end up watching the rest of the season.

I really totally geeked out when the Star Rocket Racer showed up.

Watching it now.

Welling is so freaking wooden at times.

Superman has always been portrayed as generally wooden in delivery at times. I don't mind it.

Yeah he doesn't wan't to by type cast...

Someone needs to tell him that's to late.

I don't think he is concerned about type casting as it looks as though he is not interested in playing other roles. He seems to be very private, and he's done very few interviews.

Eh. I've never really cared for Smallville. I thought this episode was better then most, the script seemed terrific. But the cheepness of some of the costuming (I'm sure they cost quite a bit actually) but I'm talking about the LOOK. Fate looked best, IMO, followed by Hawkman. Shanks did a fine Job with Carter (although my muscles are a ****LOAD bigger then his. Just sayin). But overall.......EH.

There is a sacred deal.

No hair for Hawkman unless we get Power Girl in all her glory.

This was such a great episode tonight. I want to watch it again and that doesn't happen with television shows anymore.
