Default Sequential Art Request Thread

I realize there's already a "request" thread, but that one seems limited to characters and I wanted to start one that would showcase more of the artists' abilities and better represent how their work would look if they were doing an actual comic.

So how about some sequential art requests? Someone posts a request of a scene or scenes they want to see and an artist volunteers to create it. Artists must do at least one page of sequential art and no single panel one page submissions (in other words, don't just post a single splash page). One need only do pencils, but feel free to ink and/or color as well. Collaborations are also more than welcome. Backgrounds and not just figures would be greatly appreciated.

The requestor can be as vague or specific in their request as they wish (and the artist can adhere to the request as much as they wish).

While we see how much interest there is in this exercise, we'll limit it to 3 open requests at a time. As one request is fulfilled, someone can suggest a new one, but with no more than three outstanding at one time. If after a couple weeks no one seems to be working on one of the open requests we'll open things up for a new one.

Jake and PMH feel free to add/adjust any rules as you see fit (or squash the whole thing).

I'll start things off with a request for:

Green Lantern and/or Darkstar vs. Grayven. Artist's choice of which GL and/or DS.

I like this idea. So three open requests? I'll request Batman thwarting Two-Face and his goons from robbing a bank.

The Eighth Doctor fighting Daleks would be cool.

Superman Returns was a great film. DO NOT REBOOT!

I hope you decide to do one and good luck if you do.

I'm not limiting it to one submission per request. As many artists as what to do a request are more than welcome. I don't just mean this thread as fun for the requestor, but also a way for the artist to exercise their skills, so whatever inspires them to do so, I say go for it. Not gonna stop ya just because someone else decided to draw upon the same inspiration.

Could somebody explain Adam Strange: When the Darkstars died saving the universe from Starbreaker? What kinda death scene was it? I think I'd be down to see if I could bring Ion and Ferrin Colos together to fight Grayven.

Munchuk was knocked planetside from space, presumably dying upon impact, although no body was ever seen. Colos and Bron "died" when their suits overloaded while syphoning off some of the energy Starbreaker had absorbed. They basically popped out of existence (aka could easily be explained away as having involuntarily teleported elsewhere due to the Zeta Beam energy they had absorbed).

y'know God-man I don't often post in the Crit forum but this piece is absolutley wonderful especially your use of expressionism in Hal's mask, more than that you went all out you made a comic page not just a splash page, You art tells a story without words. Your style reminds me of the late, great, Seth Fisher

Very nicely done, G-Man! You encapsulated the exercise perfectly. This was exactly what I was looking for (except maybe some added backgrounds, but I'm not gonna get greedy)! Thanks for participating! Hope to see you do more!

If more artists want to try the GL/Darkstar vs Grayven suggestion, they're more than welcome too, but since we've gotten one entry for that request, that opens us up for one new one (if you already have a request outstanding, please do not ask for another).

Well since no one else filled the 3rd Resquest slot, I'll throw another one out there.

How about Aquaman (and feel free to throw in Lagoon Boy) vs Black Manta and/or Shark and/or Kordax?
